For our Department of Guidance, Navigation and Control Systems at the Institute of Space Systems in Bremen we wish to recruit for the Development, Simulation, Test, and Verification of Guidance, Navigation and Control Systems for Space Applications Three Engineers in the Field of Embedded Systems, AerospaceSpace Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Science, Electronics, or similar Your Mission The Institute of Space Systems in Bremen designs and analyzes future spacecraft and space missions launchers, orbital and exploration systems, and satellites, and assesses them with regard to their technical performance and cost. It applies stateoftheart methods of multidisciplinary engineering in system design and analysis for example, a computerized system for concurrent design. The Guidance, Navigation and Control Systems Department focuses on the capability to analyze, design, develop, implement, simulate, test, and verify attitude and orbit control systems AOCS guidance, navigation, and control GNC systems for space applications and their components. This involves a range of disciplines, including requirements management, systems engineering, algorithm development, software implementation, systems analysissimulationverification, and hardwareintheloop testing. The GNC Systems Department is also conducting research and development of promising and strategic technologies for AOCS and GNC systems. The GNC Systems Department is involved into the Mission to the Moon of PTScientists, the first European Moon landing mission, as an official partner. The mission objective is to be the first private company to safely land a spacecraft on the Moon, to explore the area around the Apollo 17 landing site with two rovers, and to send pictures and videos down to Earth. In the frame of this project, the GNC Systems Department leads the development of the GNC subsystem as scientific partner. The work comprises the development of optical navigation technologies, the controller synthesis for descent and soft landing, the optimization of the landing trajectory as well as the comprehensive verification of all associated elements. Within this context, we are looking for scientific staff members to conduct the following tasks within the GNC Appliances Research Group Development, test, and verification of hard and software elements of embedded systems Specification, selection, and procurement of components for GNC systems Development, implementation, and validation of simulation models and realtime simulation systems Characterization and modelling of sensors and actuators Conception, development, setup, and operation of measurement, experimental, or simulation setups for GNC systems in all development phases Verification and validation of simulations, algorithms, and software Integration of components and systems, support of systemlevel AIVAIT processes Production, technical review, and auditing of scientific and technical documentation Derivation and monitoring of requirements for the development processes Documentation, presentation, and publication of results Supervision of student internships, project and semester reports, and theses Commitment to group activities such as maintenance and development of laboratories, development and improvement of procedures, knowledge management, or acquisition of external funding Your Qualifications Required Successfully completed university degree on masters level or equivalent according to 7 II Tarifvertrag ber die Entgeltordnung des Bundes TV EntgO Bund in the domain of embedded systems, aerospacespace engineering, mechatronics, computer science, electronics, or similar Knowledge about usual hard and software architectures of embedded systems Good programming skills in C, C, and MATLABSimulink as well as good knowledge of the software development process for embedded systems crosscompiling toolchains, debugging, profiling, etc. Experiences with modelling and simulation of sensors and actuators as well as with implementation, validation, and execution of realtime simulations e.g. with dSPACE systems Fluent in written and spoken English, ideally with work experience abroad Conformance with the personal requirements for handling of export controlled goods and information according to German, European and American export control laws Willingness to domestic and international travels on official business Desired Knowledge and Experiences Generation of CC code for embedded systems out of MATLABSimulink using MATLABSimulink Coder and Embedded Coder Development of technical systems for space applications according to spacetypical norms and standards e.g. ECSS Handling and programming of microcontrollers and FPGAs Knowledge in the domain of electrical engineering, analog and digital electronics practical experience with developing electronic assemblies as well as with measurement technology for electronics development Knowledge in the domain of mechanical engineering and the development of draft conceptions for mechanical systems using CAD software e.g., CATIA V5, Inventor Experience with Linux operating systems ideally Ubuntu and version control systems e.g. Git, Subversion Practical experience with writing scientific and technical documents with LaTeX Scientific publications articles in peerreviewed journals, conference contributions, etc. Supervision of student seminar papers and theses Mastery of written and spoken German is an advantage Experience and successes with acquisition of external funding Your Benefits Look forward to a fulfilling job with an employer who appreciates your commitment and supports your personal and professional development. Vous tes en charge dune activit de conception et de dimensionnement des structures lanceurs, dans le cadre de la prparation du futur avantprojets et dmonstrateurs et dans le cadre du dveloppement des lanceurs europens. A ce titre, vous ralisez des tudes aidant la spcification, la conception, le dimensionnement et la justification des structures de lanceurs, au profit des activits de prparation du futur y compris les dmonstrateurs sol ou vol et de dveloppement de nouveaux systmes de lancement comme Ariane 6. Ingnieur mcanicien diplm dune coleuniversit avec une spcialisation en technologies arospatiales, vous avez de solides connaissances en conception de structures ainsi que des matriaux mtalliques et composites et de leurs procds. Vous connaissez la conception, la caractrisation, la qualification et la production de structure ainsi que lutilisation de mthodes analytiques ou numriques de dimensionnement. Vous avez 2 ans dexprience minimum dans le domaine des lanceurs, des missiles ou dans le domaine plus gnral des transports, dans les secteurs Industrie ou Recherche. Modelling and Simulation Engineer 1811013 Job Description We are looking for a Modelling and Simulation Engineer for our client ESTEC. You will provide support to the section activities in the areas of system and architecture modeling. In addition, support to the development, verification and acceptance of SW infrastructure to support modeling as well as simulation. The activities will be in the area of System modeling in support of requirements engineering, system architecting and system verification. System modeling in support of information traceability and management, in particular linked to system software development. Tools and infrastructure maintenance to support system modeling and mission performance simulation. Endtoend performance simulators for space missions, in terms of the related simulator development software, processor development for data products and formalisation of corresponding simulator architectures. Following the complete software lifecycle for the project, encompassing users requirement, specification, implementation, documentation, testing, deployment of new SW release and the SW maintenance process. Providing support in simulation tools and models used for the project including its 3D visualisation texture, model..., real time simulator with HW in the loop, models used for simulation. Managing communication interfaces between the different project elements, both for flight and ground segments. Managing the porting of the flight SW to new HW platform. Managing porting of ground segment SW to new HW platform in case of HW obsolescence. Required Skills and Experience At least four years professional experience in a relevant position. MSc or PhD in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent. Practical experience of system modeling and mission performance simulators. Experience in system modeling, using SysML or comparable modeling languages. Experience in system architecting using architectural frameworks. Experience in system requirements and verification engineering. Experience of simulator development, functional and performance, at software level. Good knowledge of related methods and tools, i.e., software engineering and configuration control methods, tools and standards ECSS is essential, in particular for embedded systems and their associated testing and verification. An ability to work independently and to establish good working relations is essential. Good programming skills in C and C is essential. Proficient knowledge of the UNIX Linux operating systems and advanced knowledge of Windows is important. Knowledge of realtime modelling and simulation and its application to space projects is very important. Desirable Skills and Experience Background and experience in robotic operations is desirable. Knowledge in visualisation systems VR is desirable. Experience in spacecraft system engineering is advisable.
