Ajilon Technology Aerospace is looking for a Configuration Management Officer M3 for an opportunity at the European Space Agency in the Netherlands Specific tasks to be performed The post holder will report to the Copernicus Space Segment Product Assurance and Safety Manager and will be responsible for Establishing and maintaining the Configuration Management CM requirements baseline for the Copernicus Space Segment Component Programme. Maintaining the Projects Baseline requirements and their traceability in DOORS. Establishing and maintaining the Configuration Status for the Copernicus Space Segment Component. Organising in coordination with the PA managers, the Configuration Management Boards for the disposition of request for waivers, request for deviations and configuration change requests proposals. Reviewing of contractors plans, specifications and effort proposed for the execution of the project CM programme. Guiding and monitoring the implementation of CM requirements by contractors and directing the necessary preventive or corrective actions. Guiding and monitoring the implementation of database tools for the Copernicus Space Segment Component Programme including documentation management, actions management, NCR management, Review management and CM management. Guiding and monitoring the documentation management system of the Copernicus Space Segment Programme. Providing support to the Quality Management System activities within the Directorate for the Documentation and Configuration Management aspects. General tasks to be performed Configuration control covers both ESA internal activities and activities performed by Industrial Contractors. The preparation of adequate requirements and CM systems auditing are also part of the tasks. It includes the following typical duties Establishing adequate processes for proper Product configuration control, including Configuration management planning, Configuration items identification, technical requirements base lining, production and maintenance of configuration item data list CIDL, Management of configuration evolution, baselines verification, asbuilt control and inspections. Establishment of configuration control methods, procedures and standards Establishing andor assuring that adequate configuration control methods, procedures and standards are established andor maintained, consistent with applicable standardsrequirements Preparing formal requirements for inclusion in industrial contracts. Participating in Project Reviews. Conducting configuration audits and configuration inspections Supervising the processing and disposition of Change Requests andor Change Proposals Providing status data and maintaining a well structured record system acting as secretary to appropriate Boards established for the processing of changes Establishing and maintaining the approval system for all documents under formal ESA control, and maintaining the associated DRLs and DRDs Supporting the supervision and maintenance of the documentation library and archives Proposing automated methods and tools required to increase performance of configuration and documentation control tasks. To successfully perform the above mentioned tasks, the following background experience is required High level of initiate autonomy, and professional maturity that is required to carry out complex tasks and high level of responsibility. Applicants should have a university degree or equivalent qualification in an appropriate discipline with several years of experience in Configuration and Documentation Management for space projects. Experience in the management and administration of ESA databases and information systems including DOORS and ECLIPSE would be a significant advantage. Applicants should have good interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively both autonomously and in a team setting. They should have good communication skills, be selfmotivated and have a proactive approach. Attention to detail and excellent planning and organisational skills are essential.
