Configuration Management Officer

For one of our main customers ESAETEC, we are currently looking for a Configuration Management Officer, who will give support within ESAs Galileo Programme Navigation Related Activities. Tasks and Responsibilities Configuration control covers both ESA internal activities and activities performed by Industrial Contractors. Preparation of adequate requirements and CM systems auditing are also part of the tasks. Establishing adequate processes for proper Product configuration control, including configuration management planning, configuration items identification, technical requirements base lining, production and maintenance of configuration item data list CIDL, management of configuration evolution, baselines verification, asbuilt control and inspections. Establishment of Establishment of configuration control methods, procedures and standards Establishing andor assuring that adequate configuration control methods, procedures and standards are established andor maintained, consistent with applicable standardsrequirements Preparing formal requirements for inclusion in industrial contracts Participating in Project Reviews Conducting configuration audits and configuration inspections Supervising the processing and disposition of Change Requests andor Change Proposals Providing status data and maintaining a well structured record system acting as secretary to appropriate Boards established for the processing of changes Establishing and maintaining the approval system for all documents under formal ESA control, and maintaining the associated DRLs and DRDs Supporting the supervision and maintenance of the documentation library and archives Proposing automated methods and tools required to increase performance of configuration and documentation control tasks. Experience and education Masters in Engineering or equivalent or MBA or equivalent University degree from a recognised Institution of secondary studies or equivalent qualification in Business Administration, with a least 4 years of relevant experience High level of initiate autonomy, and professional maturity that is required to carry out complex tasks and high level of responsibility Proficient in the English language, both written and spoken, knowledge of another official ESA language is an asset. Sound and proven experience in Configuration Management in Space companies Organizations Adequate knowledge and understanding of the applicable ESA Configuration Management requirements and standards such as MSESARQ100, MSESARQ108, ECSSM40 Good knowledge of the specific activities andor organisation, of the applicable configuration management working procedures and support tools are an asset Previous experiences in fields like Product Assurance, System Engineering and Production Control are an asset Experience in controlling andor management of activities and resources in aerospace industry. For some tasks knowledge of FinanceAccounting may be required. Good sense of contacts and communications, ability to interface at appropriate level with relevant actors within and outside of the Directorate. Reliability, rigor and initiative in the execution of the assigned work. Proactive attitude to solving problems, identify priority actions and to handle high workload. Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team within the boundaries of assigned tasks and stringent schedule Highly proficient in the use of modern activities and resource management support toolsdatabases of standard office automation support software packages including in particular advance usage of Excel MsOffice and in particular advanced use of Excel Experience as user of SAP and in particular ECC and SRM modules and familiarity with relevant ESA corporate applications e.g. esap is an asset. Ability to rapidly understand and adapt to ESA specific context and environment including ESA corporate IT applications. Past experience with ESA in relevant activities is an asset.

Google strengthens its SSL configuration against possible attacks

Google replaced the SSL certificates for its online services with new ones that use stronger, 2048-bit RSA keys, making encrypted connections to its sites safer against so-called brute-force attacks. The company announced in May that it would increase the key length for its SSL certificates from 1024 bits to 2048 bits by the end of 2013.

We are looking to further enhance our team by Configuration Management Tool support You will be based initially for 2 years at our clients headquarters in Darmstadt, Germany. Extension of a further 2 years may be possible. In this large European Agency you will find an excellent and modern working environment with challenging tasks and responsibilities. Your Tasks Include The Key person shall Develop, document and administer on a daybyday basis the CM tool used to manage Changes and Configuration Items Develop, document and maintain all CM tool procedures and scripts aimed to automate and crosscheck as much as possible the applicable CM processes and working practices. Perform the second level maintenance of the CM tool occasionally, first level maintenance as well Ensure the proper identification and archiving of software releases delivered by external or internal development teams to Client operational environments Witness and crosscheck activities relevant to software installation on Client operational environments Provide support to the management of source code and data files Participate in the definition, improvement and implementation of the Configuration Management processes and working practices During the Preparatory and Routine Operations phases and in the frame of the configuration identification phase, the tasks of the Contractor will typically include the creationmodificationdeletion and version tracking of following Configuration Items HW items computers, infrastructure, Comms equipments SW items including SW applications, COTS and associated Licences, ... Sound practical experience with Configuration Management tools as Administrator Serena Dimensions or Clearcase Databases programmingSQL Oracle or Sybase Scripting languages vb.net, Python, Perl or Javascript And more generally SW development processes is required. Practical experience with Configuration Management standards such as CMMI, ISO or ESA ECSS Source code control tools CVS, SubVersion, ... SW development environments on UNIX would be considered as assets. The Key person shall have demonstrated very good communication and team working skills be able to conduct all activities in an orderly and disciplined manner, in particular when applying the applicable Configuration Management standards be able to work calmly under stress with the minimum of supervision. The official languages are English and French. The working language for the position is English and therefore the Key person must be able to work effectively in this language and have knowledge of the other, together with good communication skills.
