This is a permanent position, calling for experience of configuration management and control. You will be placed on assignment based near Frankfurt in Germany for several years. Candidates should ideally be available to start in October. Our client is responsible for establishing and operating major environment monitoring satellite programmes and the associated data telemetry and dissemination operations. The demanding realtime environment places much emphasis on adherence to quality and configuration management standards and procedures. This role embraces the creation, modification, deletion and version tracking of Software items Hardware items Documentation Also support is to be provided to configuration control, status accounting and auditing processes. The role also carries responsibility for the maintenance of the CM tool which is deployed. In addition to having a University degree or equivalent, candidates must have a minimum of five years experience in Configuration management Software development using Java or C Build, deployment and installation processes on large softwareintensive, high availability systems supporting realtime or nearrealtime applications. Other practical experience required is Source code control tools CVS, SubVersion, Software development environments on UNIX Database programming Oracle or Sybase and SQL Scripting languages such as Shell, Python, Perl or Javascript and more generally, software development processes Practical experience with Configuration Management standards such as CMMI, ISO or the ECSS Space systems standards would be an asset. Your Tasks Include The service support activities include the planning, development and installation of Configuration Management database systems and tools to address our Clients Configuration Management needs via individual service requests. Your Profile The Service Support Personnel shall have a University degree in Computer Science, or an equivalent technical field. The minimum level is a Master. More specifically, sound practical experience of the following is mandatory Specification, implementation and validation of BusinessManagement Processes electronic workflow applied to large softwareintensive high availability operational systems, ideally in the field of Configuration Management Minimum 3 years. Administration of the Serena Dimensions CM tool installation from scratch, release and patch upgrade, endtoend process model implementation and verification, monitoring Minimum 2 years. Sound practical experience with an equivalent Configuration Management tool can be considered, providing the candidate starts his service with an extensive training on Serena Dimensions CM Administration. Software development with an object oriented programming language such as Java, C or vb.net. Minimum 2 years. Software development environment such as Visual Studio Minimum 2 years.
