Configuration and Documentation Management Engineer Key Tasks and Responsibilities As part of the EUMETSAT Copernicus Programme and Service Management Office, you will have the following responsibilities Implement Configuration Management and Documentation Management plans, processes and working practices, regularly review and propose improvements on those documents Identify configuration items to be managed during Copernicus routine operations, register those items in the CM and DM databases, tracking any new version Ensure that all incoming and outgoing Copernicus documentation is managed according to applicable working practices, including storing and registering in the DM database and timely releasingdistributing to relevant recipients Control changes impacting configuration items through all staged lifecycle steps Administrate as required the Anomaly and Change Control Boards Monitor and control the hardware and software installation activities, and the deployment of documentation procedures. Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience University degree in Computer Science or related subject Extensive experience in the field of Configuration Management, including build, deployment and installation processes on large softwareintensive high availability operational systems Configuration and Documentation management standards e.g. CMMI, ISO or ECSS Configuration management tools as administrator or advanced user e.g. Serena Dimensions, Clearcase, or similar Documentation management tools as advanced user e.g. Oracle UCM Databases programmingSQL Oracle or Sybase Scripting languages e.g. Python, Perl, Javascript or vb.net Software development processes and methodologies Source code control tools e.g. CVS, Subversion Software development environments on UNIX Fluency in English is mandatory knowledge of another European language is an advantage. This is a permanent position, calling for experience of Configuration Management, including build, deployment and installation processes on large softwareintensive high availability operational systems. You will be placed on assignment based near Frankfurt in Germany for several years. Candidates should ideally be available to start in September 2015 or earlier. Our client is responsible for establishing and operating weather forecasting and Earth observation satellite programmes with associated data telemetry and dissemination operations.
