Electrical AIT and AIV Engineer Key Tasks and Responsibilities As part of the team, you will have the following responsibilities Monitoring of the Bepi Colombo AIT industrial activities at Instrument, Platform and Satellite level in terms of their technical and programmatic compatibility with the project requirements, leading to the qualification and flight acceptance of the satellite Support for the detailed test planning and test configuration consistency Monitoring of the Platform and Satellite electrical integration and functional and performance tests by reviewing the test documentation including test plans, test specifications, test procedures and test reports Monitoring the preparation and execution of the functional tests and abbreviated functional checks executed in the frame of the environmental tests mechanical, thermal and EMC Participate to the test reviews including TRRs, PTRs and TRBs, support the AITGSE related MRBsNRBs, and support the major Bepi Colombo Instrument and Satellite reviews Support to the review of qualification and acceptance Verification Control Documents Actively support the identification of problem areas and faults and participate to their effective diagnosis and resolution Monitor the preparation of the Satellite and test activities to be executed during the Launch campaign Support during the System formal reviews FAR, QAR. RIDs issuing and follow on. Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience A Masters Degree in Electrical or Aerospace Engineering or equivalent qualification Good experience in System AIT and functional testing. A proven ability to work in a project team with a sense of cooperation and negotiation with colleagues at ESA or within Industry is also required The function will require availability of the incumbent to witness tests and to participate to AIT activities for relative long periods abroad, up to several months in the case of the satellite launch campaign The incumbent will be required to demonstrate good technical understanding and analytic skills for industry provided documentation and information Taking into account the status of the project, knowledge of the Bepi Colombo spacecraft is considered an asset Fluency in English is mandatory knowledge of another European language is an advantage. Assembly Integration and Test AIT teams are building the satellites and have a specific information system. The Central Engineering division develops software tools for ground segment and onboard software. Because these customers use very technical solutions, they mainly use platforms based on Unix, Linux, and open source products. A good knowledge of these kinds of environments would be a plus. You enjoy working with customers and as such, you will provide our customers with infrastructure designs, you will help them to develop their IT budget planning, and you will support them with incident and problem tracking. You will also organise a yearly customer survey to measure their satisfaction. The BackOffice team is now launching a new group called DO IT. Unlike our large service contracts based on ITIL processes, this team will just do IT! This means that to answer our customer needs you may possibly choose, in some cases, between 2 implementation solutions either go through the service contract, or use the DO IT team if possible. In this case, you will need to validate your findings using an experimental and iterative similar to those that can be found in DevOps initiatives. This position will require a security clearance or will require being eligible for clearance by the recognised authorities.
