We are currently looking for a EPSSG Ground Segment Integration and Verification Engineer to support our customer in Germany. EPSSG Ground Segment Integration and Verification Engineer Key Tasks and Responsibilities As part of the EPSSG Ground Segment Integration and Verification Service Team, you will have the following responsibilities Observing and analysis of IV tests run at subsegment MCOPDAP level Writing of integration and verification test specifications Identification of test tools and test data Analysis of problems and management of anomalies Contribute to the integration and verification plans Scheduling and executing of all the integration Ensuring sufficiently in advance of execution that relevant procedures, tools and data are ready to be used, performing any final tuning or setup as necessary Organising and holding of Integration Test Readiness Reviews TRR Performing the integration activities and testing according to the plans Supporting Anomaly Review Board ARB meetings if applicable Performing the Verification activities according to the plans, procedures and arrangements Maintaining the OGS VCD and recording the results of the tests in DOORS. Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience University degree in engineering e.g. system or software engineering, or equivalent Several years of experiences in satellite data processing, ground station operations and ground segment and system integration and verification Good knowledge of satellite monitoring and control e.g. SCOS2000 DOORS and ECSS space system engineering standards would be an advantage Fluency in English is mandatory knowledge of another European language is an advantage. Qualifications Competencies Applicants shall have a minimum of five years of experience in the specific field of engineering and software engineering and be familiar with satellite monitoring and control, satellite data processing and ground station operations, and have experience in ground segment and system integration and verification. Ground Segment Integration Verification Engineer Key Tasks and Responsibilities You will contribute to the development of the Overall Ground Segment OGS of the Sentinel6JasonCS program and be involved in tasks related to the planning, preparation and execution of OGS IV activities. STFCs RAL Space department carries out an exciting range of worldclass space research and technology development, including developing space instruments and groundbased astronomy instruments for agencies including ESA, NASA and ESO. Weve had significant involvement in over 200 space missions and operate at the forefront of UK Space Research. About The Role We now have an excellent opportunity for a talented Group Leader within the RAL Space Assembly Integration and Verification AIV Group. The Group is responsible for the operation and development of a range of test facilities for the assembly and qualification of space hardware for both RAL Space and the wider user community. We have recently attracted significant investment for new facilities, alongside the construction of a new multimillion pound building. The AIV group is focused on both current facility operation and the provision of new facilities for users. Our facilities consist of thermal vacuum chambers ranging from 1m3 to 130m3, vacuum bake out chambers, a vibration test facility, precision cleaning equipment, inspection and metrology equipment and high specification clean rooms. All facilities are equipped with the latest instrumentation, and have modern computerbased control and monitoringdata acquisition systems. Due to expansion within both RAL Space and the AIV Group, a new Group Leader is required to lead the group through expansion and change, with new opportunities that new facilities will bring. Our future expansion will allow users to perform complete AIV campaigns for test items as large as complete satellites, as well as bespoke testing campaigns such as the calibration of space borne scientific instruments. Responsibilities will include managing and directing the 14 current team members, including managing their training and development needs to support expansion of the group acting as the face of this high profile group to stakeholders and interacting extensively with customers and reporting on programmes managing projects andor work packages, including movinginstalling new facilities responding to technical invitation to tender alongside the bid manager and expert colleagues reporting of group finance and schedule overall responsibility for ensuring COSHH standards are adhered and appropriate risk assessment are in place overall responsibility for ensuring the compliance of the facilities to the ECSS specifications and other applicable standards. About You Suitable candidates will hold formal engineering, science or technical management qualifications, ideally to degree level, but strong apprentice or ONC level or equivalent qualified candidates will be considered. Space testing qualifications are desirable. The successful candidate will demonstrate a technical background, ideally with experience of running a large facility, including practical experience in assembly and integration, however these are not essential. Primarily candidates should demonstrate significant experience of leading, managing, developing and motivating teams within a comparable environment. As the ideal candidate you will have exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to present to high level customers and build relationships internally and externally.
