RHEA is currently recruiting an Integration Verification and Validation Engineer for our client in Darmstadt, Germany. Tasks and Activities The scope of work will include Lead and coordinate the IVV activities related to the data processing chain, including Production of test data sets using system tools Risk analyses and implementation mitigation actions related to the allocated responsibility areas Production of the Test Specifications related to the data processing chain Leading the test execution Analyse the test results in coordination with the relevant experts Contribute to the Test Readiness Review, Test Review Board and Anomaly Review Maintain the traceability and provide verification records, as part of the requirements verification control activity Provide a clear overview of the required integration, verification and validation needs of the data processing chain, following familiarisation with instrument performance, data processing and dataset Support the consolidation of the system requirements verification plans with focus to the data processing chain, including the definition of the test cases and scenarios as well as relevant testing tools Support to the procurement activities for aspects related to the data processing chain Support the assessment of readiness for the launch and commissioning of the satellites and of the entire system As part of the preparation for operations, support the System Validation Tests and Operational Scenario Validation for the data processing chain. Skills and Experience The following skills and experience are mandatory University degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline e.g. engineering. At least 5 years of experience in Integration, Verification and Validation IVV activities for Earth Observation Systems Satellite and Ground Proven experience in data processing systems development including testing preparation and execution and use of simulators or tools to generate test data Proven experience in the analysis reporting of test results run on the data processing chain versus associated requirements Proven experience in data processing aspects for Earth observation remote sensing satellite systems Proven experience in project management Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to apply these to interactions within a team and between teams. The position is based fully on customer side in EUMETSAT, permanent and will start 1st of December 2014. Submission deadline for applicants will be 5th of October 2014. This is an opportunity for an experienced engineer in engineering relevant to the post, with several years of experience in the field of Integration, Verification and Validation IVV of Earth Observation Systems Satellite and Ground. The Engineer will support our customer in the overall System and Ground Segment IVV activities for the Low Earth Orbiting Satellite programmes including Sentinel3, Sentinel 6JasonCS. RESPONSIBILITIESDUTIES Consultancy support is sought primarily to perform activities of Integration, Verification and Validation IVV of the various components of the Sentinel3 Ground Segment located in EUMETSAT and the various components of the Sentinel6Jason CS Ground Segment and to support the Overall System Validation OSV activities for these two missions. All the Ground Segment IVV activities for Sentinel6 JasonCS Team will be performed by a dedicated IVV group within the System Team. ESSENTIAL SKILLS This experience shall include Testing and verification of complex data processing systems Involvement in development lifecycle of Earth Observation Systems from design to validation Preparation of IVV plans, specifications and procedures Definition and settingup of the logistic tasks related to the preparation and execution of Integration and IVV tests, including the involvement by external entities partners and industry Leading the coordination activities and running dailyweekly meetings Use of standards applicable to IVV activities QA, Configuration Management, Definition and use of Test Data for IVV activities in particular with respect to the needs and the usage. DESIRABLE SKILLS Experience in the area of Satellite Operations Preparation and of Satellite Validation Testing SVT would be an asset.
