Mission Control System Integration and Verification Engineer 1821042 Job Description We are looking for a Mission Control System IV Engineer for our client EUMETSAT. You will provide services for integration and verification testing of the Mission Control System, but will also provide services for integration and verification testing activities for the rest of Mission Control Applications and Tools of the Ground Segment including Flight Dynamics and Mission Planning Systems. You shall provide the following services to both the EUMETSAT LEO Missions under routine operations and EUMETSAT LEO new Programmes under development. You shall perform tasks in the following areas Integration Verification activities Integration of the various components of a Mission Control System and integration of the Mission Control System with the rest of Mission Control Applications and Tools. These integration activities include software deployment, software configuration, adjustment of interfaces, analysis and solution to problems. Generation and updates of test plan and test procedures for the Mission Control Applications and Tools. This activity covers functional verification testing, performance and nonregression testing manual and automatic testing. Generation of test data that facilitate the software integration, verification and nonregression testing. Execution and coordination of software verification and nonregression testing campaigns. This activity includes running the test procedures on the target system, generation of test reports, analysis of results, troubleshooting of problems. Contribute to development of the verification infrastructure development andor procurement of scripts tools to perform installation checks, nonregression, functional and performance testing. Analysis and implementation of mechanisms or tools allowing the automatic or semiautomatic verification testing of the application software. Maintaining the verification status of the software requirement baseline for the Mission Control Applications. Technical Management Documentation generation and updates of technical documents. Routine reporting preparation and production of routine reports as necessary. Meeting participation participation to technical, progress and team meetings as needed and requested. User Help Ensure Operations Continuity Provision of oncall and software services to operations. On occasions, provision of standbycallout service to operations and service to critical operations out of normal hours Software and technical service to the endusers of the application software by request Attendance in meetings Participation in technical, progress and team meetings, submission of reports as required Additional services Provision of services to other areas and programmes as required Training Provision of training covering endusage and maintenance aspects of the Mission Control Applications Maintenance and Evolution activities Preventive Corrective maintenance Investigation into relevant anomalies and solutions, their documentation and classification, with suitable, followup of the delivery of software updates System Evolution Analysis of userdriven requirements, generation of software requirements, design, implementation and verificationtesting activities System Upgrades Analysis, planning and management of application, operating system and COTS upgrades and reconfigurations, taking into account any compatibility issues Definition and management of technical documentation and procedures in support of these activities. Required Skills and Experience University degree in a relevant engineering discipline, the key person shall demonstrate significant knowledge and experience in the area of integration and verification testing of Mission Control Applications. Domain Skills Extensive experience minimum 5 years in the definition, development and maintenance of Mission Control Functions software applications with focus on Integration and Verification of typical MC applications covering aspects such as TMTC, Automation schedule and procedure execution, Operations Preparation, etc. Knowledge and understanding with working experience evidence of space related standards ECSS and CCSDS related to spacetoground interfaces. System Development Maintenance Skills Experience minimum 3 years in integration activities for Satellite Mission Control Systems based on the MICONYS software suite from ESAESOC for particular space missions. This includes software deployment, software configuration, adjustment of interfaces and troubleshooting of problems both at subsystem and system level. Experience minimum 3 years in verification testing activities of Satellite Mission Control Systems based on the MICONYS software suite from ESAESOC for particular space missions following formal software engineering processes. This includes requirement verification, generation of test plan and test procedures, nonregression testing, generation of test data, generation of test tools, running the test procedures on the Experience minimum 3 years in software development and maintenance following formal software lifecycle processes resulting in multiple customer deliveries covering production of requirements, design engineering artefacts and implementation reflecting corrective and evolution software maintenance activities as well as new applications definition. Documentation and Configuration Management Skills Good knowledge of MS Office Suite applications and experience with Documentation Management systems Experience in using Configuration Management and Anomaly Reporting and Tacking tools Desirable Skills and Experience Domain Skills Experience in Mission Control Systems with Flight Dynamics Systems Mission Planning Systems SpacecraftGround Station Simulators Software support to flight control operations teams for Mission Control Systems Software, Technologies and Engineering Skills Experience in designing and developing software components and applications using Object Oriented OO approach including design patterns designing and developing software components and applications using C, Java and scripting languages under UNIXLinux platforms. formal software development environments like Eclipse IDE. developing interacting middleware components and applications using TCPIP and CORBA. using IBM Rational DOORS as system and software requirement management tool. version Control Systems SVN andor Git. static and dynamic software analysis tools in support to testing and troubleshooting. using tools for the automation of software testing.
