Engineer, IT Systems Virtualization Luxembourg Betzdorf ROLE DESCRIPTION SUMMARY The position is responsible for the evaluation, design, analysis, implementation and documentation of Hardware and Software Linux projects within SES and affiliated companies, as well as for IT project support execution within the organization and for the assigned customer related projects. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES KEY RESULTS AREAS Design, specify, procure and implement IT systems based on Linux Review, document and optimize all existing Linuxbased infrastructure Review or create processes and workflows for Linux projects from analysis to hand over Support ongoing Infrastructure projects Define, write, optimize processes about usersystemsproject creation Review, document, maintain and update all BCP processes including Linux systems Ensure maturity improvement and adherence ofto all IT service management processes, including Change Management, Incident Management and Problem Management Provide support to 3rd party applications Varonis, Papercut Play an active role in project management from budget setup via procurement control to handover and documentation for the implementation of any required project Provide support to internal and external customers for clarification of technical matters, new solutions deployments and optimizations Provide general engineering support to other sections in the operational, engineering, sales and business development area Provide effective support to users upon request and deliver professional message and communications according to SES IT standards Provide deliverables according to timelines fixed in project charters Provide necessary input for annual budgets in time Liaise with equipment suppliers and recommend cost effective solutions and ongoing maintenance arrangements Provide continuously feedback input to the Senior Manager, Global IT Systems, participate actively in team meetings Ensure full adherence to existing policies CoBIT, ITIL, Security and other IT related Focus on simplification and standardization Perform other tasks as requested required Stay uptodate with stateoftheart IT concepts and technologies virtualization concepts mainly Oncall duties will be required 247 on a rotational basis COMPETENCIES Ability to integrate into crossfunctional andor virtual project teams Good analytical and problemsolving skills ability to frame complex problems or business issues and can elaborate and articulate alternative solutions Process oriented with very good documentation skills Proactive approach towards potential andor current customers Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Ability to understand priorities and to proactively deliver results, even under tight deadlines Ability to overcome resistance to change Ability to learn new technologies quickly Ability to understand business requirements and all stakeholders in the service delivery process QUALIFICATIONS EXPERIENCE Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Business Information Systems or equivalent Minimum three to five years of applicable professional experience in a large heterogeneous environment Good experience on Project Management Methodology as well as in IT Process Methodology ITIL, COBIT Proven experience on Linux Technologies Debian, CentOS preferred Strong experience on virtualization technologies Citrix, VmWare, Datacore any certification will be considered as an asset Poven experience in servers management, administration, troubleshooting and deployment preferably HP Hardware Good working experience on scripting Proven experience with monitoring tools Puppet, Centreon, Altiris.
