Under the agreement with ESA, the SESled consortium of industry partners will establish a Quantum Cryptography Telecommunication System QUARTZ, a new platform aimed at providing a global service for nextgeneration encryption keys for use in geographically dispersed networks. Based in Betzdorf Luxembourg, you will contribute to the QUARTZ working as part of an engineering team, developing and evaluating technical and business scenarios, analyzing existing competitors and opportunities in the target market. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES Support the implementation of cybersecure networks, key encryption and authentication algorithms, and key exchange protocols within the framework of the Quantum Cryptography Telecommunication Systems QUARTZ project. Perform literature review regarding quantum key distribution existing projects. Perform literature review regarding alternatives to quantum key distribution such as PostQuantum Cryptography PQC or others. Support the preparation of documents and presentations Perform other related tasks as required YOUR PROFILE Being an advanced Bachelor or Masters student in Cyber Security Engineering or Telecommunication or ICT or in a relevant technical area Basic understanding of the space and telecommunications industry Strong interest in the telecommunication and space domains Sound knowledge of IP networks and protocols Software Knowledge is a strong asset Willing to learn and quick learner Excellent analytical and judgment skills Ability to set priorities and to work under tight deadlines Work independently as well as in a team Fluency in spoken and written English with additional languages considered an asset EU nationality or work permit for Luxembourg. Based in Betzdorf, you will contribute to the development and control of an information system for satellite networks and satellite network filings in support of the activities of spectrum development at SES. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES Perform an analysis of the database structure of the current system, to recommend refinements aimed at streamlining the architecture Analyze the data workflow and propose mechanisms to automate data ingestion and maintenance applying ETL principles Execute an inventory of data, and grade the database in terms of quality, following guidance from spectrum software engineering Execute data cleaning on the existing system, following form the results of the data quality analysis. Internal tools will be used during the internship, including interfaces to the database and visualization tools for the data in the system.
