The Communications Technician will communicate directly with customers and uplink operators. The technician will measure RF carriers and perform satellite carrier accesses at the SES Payload Management Operations Center PMOC in accordance with established access procedures. The technician will also document events and activities and troubleshoot satellite service anomalies. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES KEY RESULT AREAS Analyze RF anomalies and troubleshoot issues to resolution using logical methods Operate test equipment and computersoftware applications to complete support tasks Perform technical testing and evaluations RF, EIRP, CN, etc.ommunicate professionally with customers via telephone and email Support customer requests satellite accesses, trouble resolution, etc. Document activities and events clearly and concisely Protect SES spacecraft and satellite bandwidth COMPETENCIES Knowledge and understanding of signal flow and RF theory Capable of problem solving and able to resolve difficult or complicated challenges Able to make timely, informed decisions in a fastpaced environment, that take into account facts, goals, constraints, and risks QUALIFICATIONS EXPERIENCE Minimum 2 years of satellite communications and customer service experience, or equivalent technical training satellite, RF engineering Demonstrated ability to operate an RF spectrum analyzer Willingness and ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as jobschedule requires Ability to prioritize tasks, isolate problems and return services back to normal operation quickly Excellent written and verbal communication skills Must be able to provide proof of authorization to work in the United States DESIRED Associates degree Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint WHATS IN IT FOR YOU? Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience Mechanical technician, with experience in working for Space Business or related matters 3 years of experience Knowledge of the general rules for working in a clean room and for getting in contact with technological items of high level Knowledge of typical operations around a satellite principles of mechanics Teamwork capability Good relationship capabilities in relationship to the customer Understanding of issues, identify root causes, define solutions Good reporting to the line manager Work mainly with procedures and under a severe quality control Flexibility in work organization Fluency in English is mandatory knowledge of another European language is an advantage. You will be responsible for maintaining service throughput for unmanned aerial vehicles, cruise line services, inflight internet, and several humanitarian missions.
