Job Description What we offer if you join our amazing team Competitive Salary Corporate Benefits Package Exciting relocation package if applicable Company events Main Responsibilities The NOC Technician will be part of an integrated team which provides 247 monitoring and control of Telemetry, Tracking and Command TTC stations of the ESTRACK ground station network, Operational IT and Operational Control Centre services at ESAs European Space Operations Centre in Darmstadt, Germany. The team, located in the ESOC Network Operations Centre, provides support using a variety of computer and network hardware and software. The NOC acts as the first point of contact for users, missionsprojects and second line support teams. As NOC Network Operations Center Technician you will concentrate your activities on the following Liaise with spacecraft and mission operations engineers as well as staff on duty at other support units, ground stations and external Agencies to establish and continuously maintain a comprehensive overview on the availability of and the demand for utilization of resources provided by the ground segment facilities. Supervise and coordinate scheduled support activities. Monitor the progress of station configurations for satellite passes through voice coordination or remote monitoring systems. Schedule Ground Stations and OCC facilities in realtime outside normal working hours. Configure and monitor station configurations for satellite passes as well as data transmissions and performance. Respond immediately to any anomaly affecting operations relevant procedures shall be initiated and 1st line maintenance activities executed as required in order to restore operations. Document and track anomalies, call out 2nd3rd party supportescalate and followup on incident resolution. Reporting and documentation. Act as first line of contact for users of critical systems. Provide 1st line computer and network support to all eligible users including incident, problem, change request and user requestcomplaints handling. Actively monitor all operational IT systems, applications and networks and react immediately on potential issues or outages by Logging and escalating incident tickets according to procedure Identify the impacted servicesusers and inform all relevant parties Initiate incident resolution or mitigating actions to restore the service asap Call outescalate to 2nd line support or external providers according to procedure Followup on incident resolutionprogress and inform interested parties of the status Prioritise work according to criticality of systems, schedules and targets. Operation, fault finding and repair on the network and on active network components CISCO using Ethernet and TCPIP protocols and by logging oncommanding active network components. In line with procedures perform contingency and scheduled reconfigurations, hardware and software maintenance, test and remedial activity, so as to minimise resource impact. Specific Tasks The candidate will be assigned to the Radio Frequency Equipment Technology Section with the role of Operation Maintenance of RF Payloads Systems Antenna Measurement Technician. The following tasks include Assisting with the integration, configuration and running of RF test setups for evaluating the performance of RF equipment, subsystems or instruments for space application such as. Atomic Clocks and Time and Frequency Test beds. Navigation payloads and associated equipment. Linear and Nonlinear characterisation of subsystemsdevices. Life time testing of RF payload equipment. MICMMIC integration using dedicated equipment such as wire and ribbon bonding machines, eutectic die bonding and testing using on wafer probing station. General laboratory support such as, general maintenance activities, calibration of the laboratory equipment, upgrade of test facilities, replacement of consumables, design of mechanical housings, thermal plates and test jigs for RF circuits, etc. Maintain up to date the RF equipment inventory list and control of lent out equipment. Development of software tools for control and monitoring of performance parameters of RF test beds. TTC and communication test beds. PIM performance, multipactor performance and high power evaluation. General laboratory support such as, scheduled maintenance, replacement of consumables, and design of mechanical housings, thermal plates and test jigs for RF circuits. Development of control software using VEE for automated testing. Organisation and maintenance of laboratory library, which includes documentation operating manuals, test reports and general documentation. Specific Qualification Requirements Minimum requirement of Bachelors degree or equivalent in related field with minimum of 4 years of relevant experience. A strong background in the preparation of RF test setups, integration and testing of RF Equipment Active, Passive, time frequency references and RF Payloads. Good experience with LabViewVee Pro and tools for automated testing, control and monitoring of telemetries and RF performance. Good working knowledge of Thermal Vacuum chamberssystems. Experience in maintenance and calibration of general RF laboratory test equipment and instrumentation. Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team within the boundaries of assigned tasks and a stringent schedule. Proficiency in English language spoken and written is essential.
