Position Reference 822 On behalf of ESA, we are currently looking for an Operation Maintenance of RF Payloads Systems Antenna Measurement Technician to work in its Site ESTEC in the city of Noordwijk, The Netherlands. Tasks and Activities The scope of work will include Assist with the integration, configuration and running of RF test setups for evaluating the performance of RF subsystems or instruments for space application such as Atomic Clocks and Time and Frequency Test beds. Navigation payloads Linear and Nonlinear characterisation of subsystemsdevices. Life limited RF payload equipment. PIM performance, multipactor performance and high power evaluation. Remote sensing space born radar Calibration transponders. TTC and Communication test beds. Development of software using VEE andor Lab View for automated testing, control and monitoring of RF performance. MICMMIC integration using dedicated equipment such as wire and ribbon bonding machines, eutectic die bonding and testing using on wafer probing station. General laboratory support such as, general maintenance activities, calibration of the laboratory equipment, upgrade of test facilities, replacement of consumables, design of mechanical housings, thermal plates and test jigs for RF circuits, etc. Maintain up to date the RF equipment inventory list and control of lent out equipment. Organisation and maintenance of laboratory library, which includes operating manuals, test reports and general documentation. Skills and Experience The following skills and experience are mandatory Technical degree Bsc. Diploma or equivalent from a recognised Institution or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, with at least 4 years of relevant working experience. Strong background in the preparation of RF test setups, integration and testing of RF Equipment Active, Passive, timefrequency references and RF Payloads. Good experience with LabViewVee Pro and tools for automated testing, control and monitoring of RF performance. Good working knowledge of Thermal Vacuum chamberssystems. Experience in maintenance and calibration of general RF laboratory test equipment and instrumentation. Fluency in English, both written and spoken. The team, located in the ESOC Network Operations Centre, provides support using a variety of computer and network hardware and software. The NOC acts as the first point of contact for users, missionsprojects and second line support teams. As NOC Technician you will concentrate your activities on the following Liaise with spacecraft and mission operations engineers as well as staff on duty at other support units, ground stations and external Agencies to establish and continuously maintain a comprehensive overview on the availability of and the demand for utilization of resources provided by the ground segment facilities. Supervise and coordinate scheduled support activities. Monitor the progress of station configurations for satellite passes through voice coordination or remote monitoring systems. Schedule Ground Stations and OCC facilities in realtime outside normal working hours. Configure and monitor station configurations for satellite passes as well as data transmissions and performance. Respond immediately to any anomaly affecting operations relevant procedures shall be initiated and 1st line maintenance activities executed as required in order to restore operations. Document and track anomalies, call out 2nd3rd party supportescalate and followup on incident resolution. Reporting and documentation. Act as first line of contact for users of critical systems. Provide 1st line computer and network support to all eligible users including incident, problem, change request and user requestcomplaints handling. Actively monitor all operational IT systems, applications and networks and react immediately on potential issues or outages by Logging and escalating incident tickets according to procedure Identify the impacted servicesusers and inform all relevant parties Initiate incident resolution or mitigating actions to restore the service asap Call outescalate to 2nd line support or external providers according to procedure Followup on incident resolutionprogress and inform interested parties of the status Prioritise work according to criticality of systems, schedules and targets. The technician will measure RF carriers and perform satellite carrier accesses at the SES Payload Management Operations Center PMOC in accordance with established access procedures. The technician will also document events and activities and troubleshoot satellite service anomalies.
