RHEA is currently recruiting a Satellite Simulator Software Engineer to work on the development, test and validation of operational MCS and simulators at our clients premises in Darmstadt, Germany. Tasks and Activities The successful candidate will be responsible for the definition, implementation, acceptance and maintenance of operational simulator and Mission Control Systems. The scope of work will include Specification of systems software requirements in collaboration with the operational users Definition of internal and external interfaces in agreement with the relevant parties Acceptance of the deliverables received from industry, ensuring correctness, completeness and compliance to the applicable requirements Support the mission operations staff as required in the various operational phases, including system validation tests, simulation campaign and software support coordination during critical operational phases such as launches Coordination with other internal or external units, e.g. with the Unit supplying mission data systems infrastructure and the Unit supplying the ICT systems and services Participation in research and development activities in the area of mission data systems. Skills and Experience The following skills and experience are mandatory University degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent Knowledge of operational simulators and mission control systems, including mission planning, automation, operational database, archiving, data distribution, etc. Experience with ESOC software engineering methodology and standards, as well as ESOC software development environments and systems, including DOORS Strong knowledge of C, C, Java, UML, XML, and SQL Familiarity with relevant operating systems including LINUX. We require staff, wishing to join our team to work in a dynamic international environment for the following position Power, Thermal and SAR satellite operations service provision mf COSSOE201510 Tasks and Responsibilities The work will be performed at the European Space Operations Centre ESOC in Darmstadt, Germany. The Spacecraft Operations Engineer SOE is responsible for the support to the Sentinels missions as a member of the Flight Control Teams FCT during all the operational phases, including special operations, as well as participating to testing campaigns of the above mentioned missions. The position will include the following tasks and responsibilities Validation, test and operation of the Mission Control System MCS including the OnBoard Software Maintenance OBSM and Mission Planning System. Validation, test and operation of the stimulator. Generation, validation and maintenance of the Flight Operations Plan FOP primarily on on Thermal control and Attitude and Orbit Control System AOCS, but also for other subsystems. Validation, test and operation of the Simulator and of the MCS. Support to test and operate the Network Data Interface Units. Support for Flight Operations System FOS procurement, integration and tests. Review of satellite documents. Launch and Early Orbit Phase support LEOP responsible for Thermal Control. Commissioning support responsible for Thermal Control and AOCS. Qualifications and Experience Applicants should have a Bachelor degree in a relevant discipline and minimum 7 years of experience in Operations Engineering activities. Furthermore, candidates are required to have following skills Wellorganised, able to prioritise and manage several activities in parallel. The ability to work independently with little supervision. Capable of coordinate and Interact with other service providers in operations and other fields. Fluent in English. Spacecraft Flight Operations knowledge, including Failure Detection Isolation Recovery FDIR, in particular for relevant satellite subsystems andor payloads. Experience with Packet Utilisation Standard. Experience in working in an operational environment. Experience with flight procedures life cycle, including validation. Experience with anomaly investigations. Ability to understand and accurately predict behaviour of complex systems. Experience with low Earth orbit satellites operations, including experience in preparatory phase, special Operations LEOP, deorbiting campaign and operational phase routine. Familiarity with operational simulators, ideally SimSat. Familiarity with satellite control systems, ideally SCOS2000. Familiarity with Earth Observations missions, in particular with Copernicus Sentinels. Familiarity with TeleMetry TeleCommand TMTC databases, preferably SCOS2000 compatible. Familiarity with multisatellite missions. Experience in ground tests preparation and execution, e.g. Satellite Validation Tests SVTs. Experience in cooperation with Flight Dynamics teams. Experience in preparing and execution OBSM operations. Experience in mission planning operations. Familiarity with Network Distribution and Interface Units or similar Electronical Ground Segment Equipment EGSE. Familiarity with Mission Utility Support Tools MUST, system used at ESOC. Familiarity with ESOC working environment and Quality Management System QMS. The position is located on site at ESOC and will involve short European travels.
