Experience of the following software and tools Java, CC XML, HTML Experience of UNIX operating Systems Linux, AIX Experience of Software Configuration Management SCM methods and tools e.g. Subversion, git Experience of MS Office tools for documentation purposes e.g. MS Word Experience in software system and integration testing Experience in writing technical documentation TASK Study, analysis and design of software elements. Porting of software from one operating system or hardware platform to another, developing new software to convert satellite data between data formats, making existing software more robust for use in operational environments, or the resolution of limitationsissues in existing software. Preparation of test plans and specifications for verifying the correct development, configuration and integration of data processing and formatting software elements. Development and evolution of data formatting and processing software for products generated by the clients ground segments, or for products from external partners. Integration and endtoend testing of elements of the product generation in the clients ground segments. Evolution and update of software packages for the reading and visualisation of satellite data and products. Flight Dynamic Operations AEOLUS Command Generation Service for Earth Observation Missions 1923719 Job Description We are looking for a Flight Dynamic Operations Engineer for our client, ESOC. You will join a team responsible for the Command Generation for Earth Observation Missions but the service provider may be requested to assume the responsibility and perform activities for additional service, missions and activities within the scope of general Flight Dynamics operations engineering services. You will be primarily assigned to a particular service within the Earth Observation Missions but with the possibility of supporting other service andor missions. Services to be provided are primarily related to AEOLUS. Services may also be requested related to SWARM, CRYOSAT2, CLUSTERII. The general activities to be supported by the service are depending on the phase of the mission Command Generation Execution of and support to operational tasks Generation of task related command parameters Generation of task related reports Flight Dynamics Application Layer Maintenance of elements of the Flight Dynamics Application Layer Flight Dynamics System Development Specification of modifications, enhancements and additions to existing software elements Implementation of modifications, enhancements and additions to existing software elements Installation of modifications, enhancements and additions to existing software elements on operational platforms design, coordination and implementation of tests Participation in tests Setup procedures Flight Dynamics SubSystem configuration Coordination of internal and external interfaces and actitivities across subsystems General Flight Dynamics operations engineering activities Mandatory Skills and Experience University degree in a relevant engineering field, astronomy, mathematics or physics Skills to apply knowledge to develop solutions to technical mathematical and dynamical problems in cooperation with customers and other experts Ability to define, implement, validate and operate software which applies the above solutions using e.g. Unix andor Linux scripting languages, Fortran 77 andor 95, C Will to take operational responsibility in multidiscipline teams Fluency in English, both in speech and writing Coordinate and interact with other service providers in operations and other fields Ability to work independently On call periods are to be expected Desirable Skills and Experience Familiarity with the ESOC environment Familiarityexperience with Flight Dynamics operations engineering tasks Experience dealing with external interfaces Experience with OracleSolaris andor Linux, network services and protocols, and system administration The ability to multitask efficiently working on multiple activities, multiple subsystems and if applicable multiple missions simultaneously. This position is essential and key for Airbus growth in digital platforms and services in the EO data management and analytics domain. Commercial experience in an EO data technical architecture and analytics role in industry. Experience with commercially or open source available EO data exploitation solutions. Experience of various sources of EO data, including open source satellite data, imagery, ESA, CubeSat satellite data. A solid knowledge of ground segments and satellite products specifications. A solid foundation and experience in EO data processing and integration with other types of data and systems as an enabler for datadriven decision making Intelligence, by collecting, transforming, analysing and visualizing data typically timeseries and imagery data. A solid foundation on software engineering including understanding of the software technology, architecture and how to design, develop, and manage robust, secure, scalable, highly available, and dynamic solutions and services. A solid foundation on cloud computing including understanding of the cloud technology, cloud architecture and services, and how to design, develop, and manage robust, secure, scalable, highly available, and dynamic solutions and services hosted in the cloud.
