Overview The task covers the daily operation, maintenance and change controlfor records in the Navigation Directorates Documentation andConfiguration Management System. Thedocumentation and configuration tasks are rendered by Configuration and Data Management team to given programmes, projects and specific organizationalentities within the Navigation Directorate. It includes the following regular duties in particular Document registration, distribution and archiving, as well asprovision of reproduction services of documents and media. Regular review of the status of documents in the different archiveand storage locations and align this information in theDocumentation and Configuration Management System database. Processing configuration controlled document changes and officialpapers relevant to the activities of the unit. Generation and maintenance of documentation and configurationtracking lists. Support to the management of the User Account List to the Directorates servers and services. Support to users for entering and retrieving documents from variousDocumentation and Configuration Management related serversystems internally and externally. Liaising with industrial partners CADM officers anddocumentalists for exchanging data and resolving documentation andconfiguration related issues. Provision of paper copies of electronic documents on request,creation of electronic versions of documents and management oforiginal files. Support to all documentation and configuration related tasks fortechnical and nontechnical reviews. Support to the Directorate Document Records Officer DDRO indischarging relevant functions. The position reports to the Head of the Configuration and DataManagement unit. The above tasks must be implemented in line withapplicable Directorates Configuration Management processes andstandards in close collaboration with relevant CM responsibles. Specific qualification requirements University degree Bachelor from a recognized Institution ofsecondary studies or equivalent qualification with substantial coverage of configuration and documentation management matters. The minimum of 4years of relevant experience. The work associated to this position can require handling ofclassified documentation. The candidate shall confirm to be eligibleand willing to apply to a Personal Security Clearance. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and customer focus. Ability to work autonomously, effectively and cooperatively in a diverseand international team environment. Fluent in the English language spoken and written. Knowledge of another European language is an asset. IT Support ESA Cloud Support Service

Client and Location For one of our main customers ESAESTEC, we are currently looking for an IT Engineer who will provide IT support to the Space Technology Projects Section onsite at ESTEC. The European Space Agency ESA deployed in 2013 an on premises private cloud computing environment, named esacloud. Since its service launch at the end 2014 multiple tenants are now running some 1600 virtual machines on esacloud. These Applications support a variety of services from desktop services, such as messaging to ground segment operations in support of ESA missions. The private cloud solution is a multitenanted environment based on state of the art VMware vCloud products suite, physically located within two main ESA data centres in ESRIN Frascati Italy ESOC Darmstadt Germany. Each esacloud tenant is deploying its virtual servers within logical containers within vCloud, namely organisations. Each organisation represents a secure and isolated environment for deploying virtual machines VMs within so call virtual appliances vApps. Since its launch the esacloud service has been extended from the initial Infrastructure as a Service IaaS offering to include additional services such as Backup as a service BaaS, Platform as a service PaaS and Container as a service CaaS. Tasks and Responsibilities On boarding and Support to end users The following specific tasks shall be carried out Provide technical support to the HIF adoption teams and new users on the esacloud service portfolio and advice which service best suits the customer needs Provide support to customers to DeployCreate vApps VMs either using goesacloud or v Cloud Director interface based on agreed customer needs from public catalogue templates or provided media files upon request Provide support to customers or their providers to install applications within dedicated V Ms or containers Configure and modify VApp network settings based on customer needs Restart V Ms v Apps in cooperation with end user after incidents which resulted in a cloud platform unavailability Modify VM resources not configurable through the goesacloud interface. This post is classified in the A2A4 grade band on the Coordinated Organisations salary scale. LOCATION ESTEC, Noordwijk Netherlands, with a resident assignment in Oberpfaffenhofen Germany. DUTIES Under the authority of the Head of the Columbus Operations Division, the postholder has overall responsibility for managing the endtoend preparation and implementation of the ESA activities for specific assigned ISS increments. These activities relate to the Columbus module, including its payload facilities and the associated ground segment and operations to support ISS operations. The postholder is responsible for preparing, implementing and overseeing the execution of all ESA Columbus mission operations activities related to the assigned ISS increments as defined in the respective Increment Requirements Document IRD, and during realtime operations is the single interface for directions to the Flight Control Team. Specifically, duties will include managing assessment of ESA and NASA requirements for the upcoming ISS increment defining and managing the activities required to implement ESAs ISS requirements for a specific increment and other requirements on NASA payloads in the Columbus module IDRDIRD development planning and implementing the increment reviews coordinating and implementing the Certification of Flight Readiness process and undertakings for each flightstage of the increment providing the operational interface with the ESA ISS programme management during the preparation phase with respect to progress reporting, programmatic guidance and issueresolution managing daytoday the mission operations activity flow, including onconsole presence, regular meetings, tagups internally in ColCC and externally with European centres and International Partner entities directing the Flight Control Teams at ColCC, in this role as Mission Director, during the execution phase of the specific increment, both routinely through meetings with the Columbus Lead Increment Flight Director and exceptionally via discussions with the Flight Director on shift if the situation requires realtime programmatic direction being the formal ESA interface with the NASA ISS Increment Manager and Launch Package Managers managing the preparation of the PostIncrement Report. Other operationsrelated tasks not linked to a specific increment may be assigned during periods when no increments are assigned. QUALIFICATIONS Applicants for this post should have a Masters degree or equivalent qualification in science or engineering and management experience. A thorough knowledge of the Space Station programme, Columbus system and payload operations is essential. Previous experience of international cooperation would be an asset. The post requires a systemminded and resultsoriented approach. The postholder will work in a highly complex operational environment and should be able to integrate teams and operational entities spread across different countries. The ability to plan and organise efficiently is required, as are good communication skills. For behavioural competencies expected from ESA staff in general, please refer to the ESA Competency Framework. The working languages of the Agency are English and French.
