The successful candidate will join the Products Space Physics Engineering France department. The product optimisation, engineering and operations group carries is in charge of the development of software products for the design and operating of space systems, and in particular telecommunication systems. Our solutions, used at different stages in the space system lifecycle calls for tenders, design, validation and exploitation and at the core of numerous function processes.Our software covers various problems payload design, harness optimisation, mission design support, validation optimisation, test data exploitation and inorbit operations for a large panel of space functions.In order to reinforce our rapidly growing entity, we are recruiting a software projectproduct manager. Passionate about software development, you will join an innovative team concentrated on creating products intended to improve the productivity of users and the efficiency of functional processes.In the shortterm, you will take charge of a software product You will analyse customer needs, define and perform revisions, and provide support to entry into service in France and at users. Based on your good knowledge of technologies, you will perform the synthesis of needs, understand the competition and the market, define the roadmap of products and you will be in charge of obtaining customer adhesion. In the mediumterm, you will expand your responsibilities to a complete software line.This position will require security clearance or eligibility for clearance by the recognised authorities.In this context, you will be in charge of the following activities Management of the development team, Coordination of the activities, Interfacing with various customersusers, Establishment, then implementation of the roadmap, Definition of RDRT axes, Demonstrating knowledge of all the customer functions activities, processes, interfaces, etc., Specification, architecture, coding, validating upgrades, Preparation of financial and technical proposals for the customer, Deployment of products within Astrium or to an integration stand Customer support and training, Reporting to the customer and management. You enjoy software development and you have already led a major one. A vacancy for a Thermal and Fluid Engineering Product Manager mf has arisen within Airbus Defence and Space in Toulouse. You will join the Thermal Hardware and Engineering department and will be in charge of the performance financial and programmatic and development from the design up to the delivery of fluid control in microgravity conditions or thermal control products. You will ensure the customer internal or external relationships, and the management of the design team and industrial followup. You will be involved with the following technologies and products heat pipes, capillary pumping fluid loops, subassemblies of complete thermal control from the catchment to the rejection of the power to be dissipated and Propellant Management Devices PMD based on capillary phenomena. In the context of this mission, you will be responsible for the quality, cost and leadtime of the departments subcontracted activity and ensuring the associated reporting. You will perform the following activities Steering the general design and validating the justification and definition dossiers for the product concerned, with the support of different functions, and ensuring compliance with the specification requirements, Leading the industrial followup and design team 3 to 5 persons per product and producing a technical summary of the hardware developed, Defining the work plan for the detailed definition and acceptance activities designs, analyses and tests, Establishing, following up on and managing the cost estimates for the overall budget 0.5 to 3M, for the development schedule and the analysis of the risks associated with the product concerned, Conducting the industrial followup of the test, integration and manufacturing partnerssubcontractors to ensure compliance with the definition documents, Interfacing with the customer external customer or internal project group, ensuring the reporting, Participating with the responses to the Calls for Tender. This position will require frequent travel for business once every two weeks within Europe, and, as such, you must be able to travel accordingly. As the successful candidate, you will be able to demonstrate some of the following competencies Engineering degree or university equivalent in the field of thermal or mechanical engineering, At least 5 years experience in thermal analyses andor in thermal and fluid product development, Proficiency in design aid tools risk analysis, value engineering, functional analysis, engineering and development plan definition, Proficiency in the basics of space thermal and fluid mechanics and the associated sizing rules and the behaviour of fluids in microgravity capillary phenomenon, Solid knowledge of manufacturing processes used on developed products welding, brazing and machining and the rules of industrial drawings, Knowledge of modelling thermal and fluid mechanics, Ideally, initial experience in technical management, project andor product developmentindustrialisation management. Experience in thermal control technologies, ideally diphasic, would be a plus, Ability to summarise and excellent decisionmaking skills, Ability to integrate into a team and adapt well, Meticulous nature, as well as the ability to take initiative, with a responsive and autonomous approach, Good interpersonal and communication skills writtenoral, Advanced level of English and French. The successful candidate will be subject to UK National Security Clearance in order to undertake related work in accordance with business needs. Your main tasks and responsibilities will include Preparing the Customisation of the PA Plan and the PA Requirements taking into account the programme specificities relative to Product Assurance, against our standards and references, and to make sure that the others TechnicalProgrammatic are effectively flown down to all levels. Ensuring that adequate work instructions and records are maintained during the design and manufacture of the Payload and associated equipment, to ensure that easy reference is available for monitoring past and present procedural or technical activities. Contributing to program reviews and Quality gates and identify, manage associated quality deliverables. Participating in risk review meetings at all stages of the Payload design, development, and assembly, installation and test, in conjunction with the Programme team ensuring that risk retirement plans are drawn up and carried through. Managing Critical Item process control and its associated Mitigation Plan during the design and manufacture of the Payload and associated equipment. Controlling all quality costs directly associated with their Programme team. Contributing to the internal flight worthiness certificate and to the delivery of the certificate of compliance for the deliverable products to the customer. We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience Educated to HNDHNC level or equivalent in Engineering. Experience with manufacturing quality issues from an engineering perspective preferably in space aerospace industry. Strong communication and problem solving skills with the ability to influence and negotiate engineering solutions. Previous experience in Project Programme Manager. Knowledge of Telecoms Payload products and processes is highly desirable. Strong ability to generate and write reports with an understanding of risk management.
