We are currently looking for an Assistant ProgrammeProject Controller to support our customer in the Netherlands. Assistant ProgrammeProject Controller Key Tasks and Responsibilities As part of the Earth Explorer Project Control Section, you will have the following responsibilities Prepare and administrate and monitor procurement actions, contracts as well as CCNs. Manage these processes in the ESA SAP system esap as well as in excel or other tools as required Support the project controllers in maintaining financial or procurement databases such as geographical return and cash and cost plans, actuals and deviations Support in the administrative process of implementing the so called Best Practices of selection of subcontractors Maintain the CCN status list and the Financial Appendix of the satellite contract Prepare and assist in producing financial and programmatic status reporting as required Monitoring of assigned contracts with respect to cost, payments, contract changes deviations and trends. Preparation of management reports on these areas Support the Project Controllers in the introduction of new management or financial procedurestools Assist in the preparation of project audits if and when required. Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience Several years of experience of project or financial control Highly proficient in modern planning and project control tools, office automation software and databases, such as MS office including Excel Experience with SAP Excellent planning and organisation skills and attention to detail Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team Initiative and motivation to perform to high standards in a demanding environment Knowledge of ESA administrative and financial processes is a definite advantage Fluency in English is mandatory, the knowledge of another European language will be an advantage. Description Under this work package the contractor shall provide support with the Earth Explorer Project Control Section. The support required is initially to cover for an ESA staff member on parental leave. The work will mainly be performed within the EarthCARE project but support is also required to other Earth Explorer Projects with the Earth Observation Projects Department. In that respect heshe is required to assist the project controllers in a variety of tasks, including Prepare and administrate and monitor procurement actions, contracts as well as CCNs. Manage these processes in the ESA SAP system esap as well as in excel or other tools as required. This includes Preparation of shopping carts, updating purchase orders and ensure status of each contract is maintained Actively and timely manage all GRNs in the project. Creating an maintaining milestone payment plans to ensure t the planning is up to date in esap and in related files if required. Prepare and maintain procurement actions purchase orders, CCNs, contracts etc. Report on financial status of procurements and internal cost of projects as required. Support the project controllers in maintaining financial or procurement databases such as geographical return and cash and cost plans, actuals and deviations Support in the administrative process of implementing the so called Best Practices of selection of subcontractors. Knowledge of scheduling techniques tools would also be an assetappreciated although not mandatory for the position The contractor is expected to be or become familiar with the Agencys rules and regulation for tender actions, placing of contracts and the related monitoring, control and reporting on industrial contract and ESA internal expenditures. He she is also expected to become proficient in the use of the Agencys internal informatics tools needed for the conduct of hisher tasks. The contractor will be required to interface with colleagues in the Earth Observation Projects Department as well as with the Finance and Procurement Departments. In addition there will be interfaces with personnel in the European aerospace industry. Project Control Assistant contractor will report to the Head of the Earth Explorer Project Section. He she will however be delegated to work on specific Earth Explorer Projects, mainly the EarthCARE project, and there provide direct support to the project specific project controller. Requirements Several years of experience of project or financial control Knowledge of ESA administrative and financial processes is a definite advantage Highly proficient in modern planning and project control tools, office automation software and databases, such as MS office including Excel. Description The main tasks of the Team are to ensure an effective and userdriven service to support the provision of data, both realtime and archived, as well as to provide comprehensive technical information to handle all forms of user enquiries relating both to current operational services and to future satellite programmes of EUMETSAT. The Team shall be divided into two subteams, each supporting the routine activities in the two main User Service areas 1. Data Centre Service Team providing help to users ordering Archive data, supporting the Operations of the Archive and supporting the routine generation of Climate Data Records 5 positions 4 Data Centre Operator positions and 1 Data Centre Product Analyst position 2. Requirements University Degree in a scientific or technical discipline 3 years of experience in the operation of computer systems, preferably in an operational or realtime environment. 5 years of experience working as a firstline interface with customers. Experience in using SAP, whilst not mandatory, would be advantageous. Helpdesk Assistants will have to respond to user enquiries and they must possess the appropriate interpersonal skills necessary to ensure such responses are polite and informative. 5 years of experience with using PCs is essential, including familiarity with the use of MS Word, MS Excel spreadsheets and MS Outlook.
