We are looking for you as Galileo Network Operations Manager mf Are you looking for a new and interesting activity in one of Europes most outstanding projects in the area of operation of navigation satellites? This could be your field of responsibility Act as member of the Engineering Team of the Galileo Operations Prime Contractor Report to the Operation Service Manager Lead OSM Coordination between the Network associated activities and the MissionConstellation operations team and the alignment of OPS. The Network Operations Manager is supported by the network engineersanalysts of the telecommunication providers in the Galileo Control Centres. He interfaces the local network operations engineers and the network Status Security Monitoring service provided. Ensuring the full integration of network operations into the operational processes planning, reporting, handling of incidents, escalation, etc.. Ensuring that all network operations are executed in a timely manner and without affecting the planned MissionControl operations. Liaising with the OSM for all network issues affecting operations. Ensuring coordination between GroundNetworks teams. Support operational Configuration Management CCR CCB processes. Support operational Anomaly Review Boards Support the Operational Planning process and logistic process Support Project Reviews Contribute to proposal preparation Monitor and control of Network Service Level Agreement Contribute to Operation Progress Reports Planning of Request and Incident management. Network Operations Manager Spaceopal is the operations prime contractor for the European Galileo Satellite Navigation System and manages all Galileo Operations. The awarded European Commission EC contract to Spaceopal is more than just its satellites in space. Galileo Operations will provide highquality positioning, navigation and timing services to users across the whole world as a civilcontrolled service with guaranteed continuity of coverage. Tasks and Responsibilities The Galileo Operations team is led by the Operations Service Manager OSMs which are the primary point of contact for all Galileo operation tasks. The Operations Service Managers are managing the daily operations and are supported by Mission Operations Management and Constellation Operations Management as well as the ILS, IOT and Networks Operations Manager. The new position Networks Operations Manager is a support function to the Operation Service Manager and deals with the daily coordination between the Network associated activities and the MissionConstellation operations team and the alignment of OPS. The Network OM is supported by the BT network engineersanalysts in the GCCs and the 247 realtime support of the BT NOC. He interfaces the local GCC network operations engineers and the GDDN Status Security Monitoring GSSM service provided by the GSSM Engineer and the GCC shift teams as a 247 function within the MCR . Heshe will report to the SPO Operation Service Manager Lead OSM. The main tasks are Ensuring the full integration of network operations GDDN, MDDN, SDDN into the WP6 operational processes planning, reporting, handling of incidents, escalation, etc.. Ensuring that all network operations are executed in a timely manner and without affecting the planned MissionControl operations. Liaising with the OSM for all network issues affecting operations. Ensuring coordination between WP6 GroundNetworks teams both from the GDDN, MDDN, SDDN service provider and GCCs operations team. GDDN, MDDN and SDDN Service Management and SLA monitoring. Description In providing support to delivering, supporting, operating and maintaining the network infrastructure, services and solutions provided for current and emerging operational networks, the key person shall be required to carry out the following tasks Identification and selection of the optimal solution or service for a customer request with further elaboration, customisation, presentation and agreement of the solution with peers and customers. Rollout installation, configuration, testing of network solution and services in coordination with peers and customers. Use the network lab for proofofconcept and predeployment testing. Rollout installation, configuration, testing of network infrastructure or services. Perform 1st line examination, analysis and debugging, upon suspected network anomalies, typically detected as part of monitoring activities. Raise anomaly reports. Perform all aspects of 2nd line, expertlevel network troubleshooting debugging and diagnosing, rootcause analysis, implementation of shortterm workaround, implementation of longterm resolution. Supervise and interact with Service Providers upon rollout of new or upgraded services. Cooperate with partner organisations and remote locations on the delivery and support of network connectivity and services between the client and the partner organisations or remote sites. Support obsolescence andor performance upgrades of the clients networks in remote sites, incl. Madrid, Suitland, Md US, Longyearbyen, Svalbard Norway, Fucino Italy as well as of the WAN links connecting the remote sites to the EUMHQ. Support the migration from legacy VLS systems to a common consolidated infrastructure. Operate, administer and maintain the network systems and services as they are currently in place. Integrate newly introduced and emerging network infrastructure, systems and related services into the existing network systems and services operations, administration and management e.g. a campus backbone, a data centre network, a control center operators terminal network. Specify and author operations, administration and maintenance guides and procedures covering the newly introduced and emerging network infrastructure, systems and related services. Liaison and PoC to Suppliers and thirdparty Service Providers, responsible for monitoring quality and performance of the service and to obtain their experts support for advanced cases of network troubleshooting. Ownership of network performance and service quality delivered on the network infrastructure and systems. Ownership of anomaly resolution, by followthrough and coordination of all actions required to get problems solved. The Contractor is expected to communicate verbally and in writing and generate and maintain documentation as an essential part of the above tasks applying the client configuration and change control procedures as well as the relevant system engineering standards, quality management procedures and maintenance procedures. Indepth knowledge of Cisco technology based network solutions. It will be considered beneficial if the key person holds a current Cisco certification or is able to substantiate equivalent experience.
