Procurement Manager for Space Ground Segment Software

As a member of the procurement team embedded within the UrtheDaily Constellation Ground Segment Program Management Office, the Supply Operations Manager will lead our external suppliers to ensure that services and products agreed are delivered on time, on cost and on quality. Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities For specifically selected suppliers, the Supply Operations Manager will also be responsible for the direct subcontract management activities, including Being the primary interface and responsible for the relationship between the supplier and our company Preparing the tender process documentation including Request for Proposals and supporting the creation of Statement of Works and Service Level Agreements Being fully responsible for managing the purchase phase of the supply chain core process and delivering systems to projects on time, to cost and fulfilling all performance and quality requirements Managing the SubcontractsRequisitionsPurchase OrdersInvoicing using the company ERP and CRM systems NetSuite Reporting on individual system status progress, technical issues, and Product Assurance issues Managing the flow of change requests and change notices to and from the supplier during this phase, in compliance with the Terms and Conditions of the contract Preparing for the formal progress reviews SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR, DRB, executing the meeting at suppliers premises if necessary to assure development, test facility or delivery readiness, formally releasing the minutes and managing actions raised through to closure Conducting the acceptance and delivery process TRB DRB Undertaking all Product Assurance aspects through the procurement process Providing postdelivery support as requested by projects and perform lessons learned analyses with suppliers to drive continuous improvement objectives, through formal subcontract closure. In general terms, she would also be responsible for Representing the whole procurement organization to the UrtheDaily Ground Segment program and suppliers teams Leading the procurement team on the assigned projects to deliver on time, on cost and on quality for the supplied products or services Ensuring coherence between Programmes and Procurement matters and as such define and agree on the appropriate procurement approach Ensuring the flow down of the program requirements to the procurement Community Defining and negotiating procurement Work Packages with program teams Securing alignment and driving procurement resources so that bids and programs goals are achieved by respecting milestones and delivering on time, on cost and on quality in line with defined requirements Challenging procurement and projects teams to improve efficiency and execution Identifying and resolving issues impacting on the Programme schedule and implement corrective action plans as required. Consolidating and presenting dashboards and dedicated reporting, including claims, change management, nonquality cost, on quality oncost metrics, issues, risks opportunities Compile and submit cost brochures detailing Supply Management commitments Contributes to the exchange of information and lessons learned between projects of the UrtheDaily Ground Segment program Supports the Program Manager in evaluating and aligning workload, headcount planning, and Programmes budgets Communicates feedback from programs on procurement performance, and drive consequent improvement actions Ensure that procurement processes are correctly and consistently applied following up our Process Improvement Quality internal protocols. Education and Experience Diploma or degree in electrical, aerospace or mechanical engineering or similar education. Nice to have, Project Management Professional PMP certificate or similar. Minimum of six 6 years current experience in a Supply Chain Procurement role working in a complex engineering environment or experience in project management and supplier development. Mandatory in the Space sector or similar. Demonstrable experience in the project, procurement or product development management for complex spaceground segment software systems, or similar products Experience with institutions and agencies of Government and Industry e.g ESA, UKSA, DLR, CNES, ASI, INTA would be beneficial Negotiation level of English very advanced minimum C1 is required Very valuable previously experience Project Management Valuable Knowledge of Quality Systems environment Skills and Experience Honest and trustable. Strong work ethics. Excellent communication skills, able to influence and negotiate with both internal and external stakeholders. Autonomous and Team player. Use to work with tight deadlines. Role Responsibilities We are passionate about innovation and driven to find new concepts for communications architectures. An opportunity to join this exciting team is available for an innovative, ambitious and experienced talent with a strong background in Optical Design Engineering and technical leadership to drive this forward and augment our rapidly growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for endtoend design of optical subsystems as well as simulation development of optical systems from concept all the way through to manufacture. Specific job responsibilities include but not limited to Integration and demonstration for a laser communication terminal. Ownership of design documentation for optical subsystems. Aiding in requirements and architecture definition including trade analysis. Working with AIT engineer to define and implement assembly and integration, and test procedures for optical subsystems Interested applicants may also consider starting first as a fixedterm consultant while rolling into a permanent role although this is less preferred. Required skills experience Experience designing and developing optical systems within the space industry, using Zemax with system optimisation Sequential, nonsequential desirable. Experience with optical calibration and alignment, and procedure definition. Optomechanical design and analysis for mass constrained systems. Integration of optical systems into products, payloads. Validation and verification of optical systems including testing. Understanding of key performance characteristics of laser, receiver for optical communication.Experience with requirements definition and tradeoff analysis for optical systems. Familiarityawareness of laser safety, regulations and clean room maintenance. Educated to degree level or equivalent in applied optics or Physics optics and 3 years related work experience. Positive attitude and, selfdriven and interested in working in a startup environment.Independent, quick learner, can structure and show initiatives to thoroughly evaluate and solve problems from different angles. Desirable additional skillsexperience Hands on lab experience working with IR lasers. Experience designing for manufacture. Strong focus on delivery.
