Fixed Term 18 months but with scope for extension Full Time About Us The Science Technology Facilities Council STFC is leading the uptake of satellite applications and engagement with the space industry in North West England and North Wales through its delivery of a series of European Space Agency ESA programmes. One key area of work is the Regional Ambassador Platform for ESA Business Applications where an opportunity has arisen for a business development professional to join the team. About the Role You will be expected to proactively work to increase the usage of satellite applications satellite navigation, earth observation, satellite communications, human spaceflight technologies and satellite AIS by businesses in the North Wales and North West England region. The region currently has one of the lowest uptakes in the entire UK but has a large potential user community that could be addressed. Activities will include instigation of new activities for ESA Business Applications identifying customeruser communities and their needs mapping the applications and services companies in the geographic region of interest identifying space capabilities and informing and educating potential customersusers undertake on a regional basis a recurrent UK market analysis extensive networking and even attendance to promote the technological and business opportunities afforded by satellite applications supporting businesses to engage withapply for funding from ESA Business Applications sourcing technical support for businesses from within STFC and external sources collecting case study information and impact data. Additionally, you will work to collect and catalogue information on regional space infrastructure and existing usersproviders of satellite data. You will be expected to provide monthly reports to ESA and STFC on the activities undertaken and steps made towards delivering the contractual targets. Part of the role will be the active engagement with the Regional Ambassadors for the other 5 geographic areas in the UK as well as the network coordinator based in Harwell, Oxfordshire. About you You will be educated to degree level in STEMBusiness related subject or equivalent experience. You will have experience of the UK space landscape and of different types of satellite applications and experience in business development.
