EGSE Electrical Ground Support Equipment Software Engineer 1311070 Job Description The selected engineer will be assigned to the System Modelling and Functional Verification Section of the Software Systems Division. The task will initially be focused in the context of ESA projects on the verification of spacecraft monitoring and control data delivered by the Primes for use by Ground Segment and Operations. In the medium term, the support will extend to the area of system database SW development, including support to the divisional reference facility. The engineer will provide on demand expertise in activities related to space system database software production. This includes the following tasks Providing technical support to projects on specific issues related to space system database software development including software problem solving, exchange and interfaces with external systems, project reviews. Support for the Space System Database reference facility using in conjunction with the EGSE reference facility, including isolating and fixing software problems. Integrating industrial elements in the EGSE reference facility and verifying their functioning in end to end scenarios. Developing and performing end to end verification and validation tests including e.g. populating EGSE reference facility database, developing test procedures. Identifying, isolating and fixing software problems. Maintaining an EGSE software libraryconfiguration managementlab website. Required Skills and Experience University degree in electronic engineering, space systems engineering, computer science, mathematics or equivalent. Metop Spacecraft Operations Engineering support 1313062 Job Description The selected candidate will be integrated into the Metop Spacecraft Operations Team, led by the Metop Spacecraft Operations Manager, within the Flight Operations Division of the Operations and User Services Department. Typical tasks include Support to the routine operations of Metop A, B and preparing for MetopC, comprising Provision of operational expertise to one or more platform subsystems andor payload instruments Maintain the corresponding operations documentation and flight procedures, including the update and operational validation of procedures releases in a configuration controlled environment Perform trending and performance analysis on the corresponding subsystems and instruments, including definition and possibly prototyping of additional analysis checks where necessary Investigations into satellite anomalies. This may require a close cooperation with the Operations Support Entity in ESTEC and Industry Participation in the satellite oncall support Identification and support to implementation of system and process improvements concerning the Metop Spacecraft Operations Team responsibilities and interfaces.
