MTG User Preparation Support Key Tasks and Responsibilities As part of the User Support Team, you will Support the MTG user preparation activities through coordination of the MTG User Preparation Project Maintain the MTG User Preparation Project plan and associated documentation and schedule related activities Collect and collate project inputs from all internal stakeholders, in particular those parts of the Remote Sensing and Products RSP Division and the teams within the Geostationary Programme Division GEO Arrange and attend regular Project team meetings and prepare meeting reports as required Record and monitor any open actions associated with the Project Prepare inputs to management reports on the status of the Project Keep abreast of guidelines issued by the WMO regarding user readiness activities for next generation satellites and prepare inputs and followup actions as required. Support some of the user engagement activities identified in this Project External coordination and user engagement activities for MTG user preparation, e.g. supporting RSP workshops, preparing and collating results from user surveys, etc Support the Web Content Developers in the preparation of content for the MTG user information area on the EUMETSAT website Support the Training Team with updated information on the status of the Project for inclusion in training events. Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications as well as proven and extensive experience in University degree preferably in remote sensing, meteorology or environmental sciences Project coordination or a project management role An ability to relate to user groups of remotely sensed data and products Remote sensing related to meteorological observation needs Preparing and maintaining information for users, preferably within the meteorological user community, in particular national weather services Use of project planning tools like MS Project or similar Working in partnership across organizational boundaries Fluency in English is mandatory knowledge of another European language is an advantage. Requirements Essentials In addition to having a university degree in computer science, software engineering or equivalent, you should bring as a prerequisite Extensive experience in eliciting and documenting end user requirements Extensive experience in analysing business processes, develop evolve business processes in collaboration with business users and document them in suitable formats Handson experience of electronic workflow systems for managing information and or document management systems Experience in facilitating large and heterogeneous groups resulting in actionable outcomes Experience in preparing technical requirement specifications Experience in supporting acceptance and roll out activities for IT systems Experience in preparing user manuals or similar and deliver training for IT systems Good understanding of Information Management concepts and in particular document management principles and the related requirements Highly selfmotivated with a high level of autonomy in working arrangements and the ability to apply initiative and creativity in the execution of tasks Excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills, willingness to learn, able to work as part of a team and displaying a strong customeroriented approach to interact with EUMETSAT personnel.
