We are looking for a Junior Ground Station Systems Engineer to support the development and or upgrade of local and remote ground stations. What youll be doing Support the definition, execution and evaluation of tests for upgrades or refurbishment of ground stations Contribute to relevant aspects of ground segment and system integration, verification and validation tests Support the definition and control the implementation of integrated maintenance plans for ground stations Support the definition of requirements and specifications for ground station upgrades or new ground stations Contribute to procurements of new ground stations, upgrades and maintenance and support services, and followup the execution of contracts Support the assembly, integration and testing of new ground stations procured from industry Acquire knowledge on CCSDS standards for ground stations engineering and hands on experience on link budgets engineering and supporting tools. What we offer The initial contract will be under the EUMETSAT Early Career Employee Programme ECEP, for two 2 years with grade A1 on the EUMETSAT salary scale. Subject to successful performance, a further contract of 5 years duration will be awarded in a post graded A2A4. EUMETSAT is deploying cloudbased data processing systems associated with multimission data lakes containing data from all the satellite systems it exploits for its own purpose or on behalf of the EU Copernicus programme. These systems support system operations and offer new big data services to end users, e.g. hosted processing on or online product customisation, in the new paradigm bringing the users to the data. A first portfolio of cloudbased big data services will become operational in 2021. As a member the Data Processing Systems Engineering Competence Area of the System Engineering and Projects SEP Division, the Junior Cloudbased Data Processing Engineer will support the design, developmentupgrade, verification and validation of cloudbased Data Processing systems, applications and services, including the associated procurements, and support their maintenance and evolutions during operations. Spacecraft Operations Engineer for OPSSAT 2023021 Job Description We are looking to expand our team supporting our customer ESOC with an additional Spacecraft Operations Engineer for the OPSSAT mission. OPSSAT, a CubeSat launched in December 2019, aims at testing and validating new techniques in mission control and onboard systems. OPSSAT provides an inorbit testbed environment for the deployment of different experiments to test new protocols, new algorithms, and new techniques. The primary areas of responsibility for the selected engineer will be Mission Planning and automation of procedures. However you may be asked to perform activities for additional subsystems or systems within the scope of spacecraft operations engineering, including test, validation and operation of the Mission Control System and Simulator. The selected engineer will support the operation as well as the further development of the systems. OPSSAT procedures are written in C and the Mission Planning and automation using MATIS are in Python and Linux.
