Operation Maintenance of RF Payloads Systems Antenna Measurement Technician

Specific Tasks The candidate will be assigned to the Radio Frequency Equipment Technology Section with the role of Operation Maintenance of RF Payloads Systems Antenna Measurement Technician. The following tasks include Assisting with the integration, configuration and running of RF test setups for evaluating the performance of RF equipment, subsystems or instruments for space application such as. Atomic Clocks and Time and Frequency Test beds. Navigation payloads and associated equipment. Linear and Nonlinear characterisation of subsystemsdevices. Life time testing of RF payload equipment. Development of software using VEE andor Lab View for automated testing, control and monitoring of telemetries and RF performance. MICMMIC integration using dedicated equipment such as wire and ribbon bonding machines, eutectic die bonding and testing using on wafer probing station. General laboratory support such as, general maintenance activities, calibration of the laboratory equipment, upgrade of test facilities, replacement of consumables, design of mechanical housings, thermal plates and test jigs for RF circuits, etc. Maintain up to date the RF equipment inventory list and control of lent out equipment. Development of software tools for control and monitoring of performance parameters of RF test beds. TTC and communication test beds. PIM performance, multipactor performance and high power evaluation. General laboratory support such as, scheduled maintenance, replacement of consumables, and design of mechanical housings, thermal plates and test jigs for RF circuits. Development of control software using VEE for automated testing. Organisation and maintenance of laboratory library, which includes documentation operating manuals, test reports and general documentation. Specific Qualification Requirements Minimum requirement of Bachelors degree or equivalent in related field with minimum of 4 years of relevant experience. A strong background in the preparation of RF test setups, integration and testing of RF Equipment Active, Passive, time frequency references and RF Payloads. Good experience with LabViewVee Pro and tools for automated testing, control and monitoring of telemetries and RF performance. Good working knowledge of Thermal Vacuum chamberssystems. Experience in maintenance and calibration of general RF laboratory test equipment and instrumentation. Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team within the boundaries of assigned tasks and a stringent schedule. Proficiency in English language spoken and written is essential. Legal and Security Requirements All applicants must be legally allowed to work in The Netherlands Applicants are required to provide a copy of their passport and degree certificate. Aurora will validate the Degree with the issuing University and provide evidence to ESA. Prior to issuing a letter of employment the applicant shall provide to Aurora a recent official document declaring that they are of good conduct from the country where currently resident. Location The work will be performed at the European Space Technology and Research Centre ESTEC at Noordwijk, The Netherlands. Contract The selected candidate will receive good remuneration. Will be registered for both social security and tax in the Netherlands. The standard working hours are 40 per week. There are 12 public holidays and an additional 30 annual days holiday. ROLE DESCRIPTION SUMMARY This role is an integral part of the operations readiness of O3b mPOWER and subsequent and ongoing Operations group change across SES. The individual will work as part of the project Symphony team future operations design to ensure that all operational requirements are gathered and input to the various ongoing system developments across SES. Towards the go live of O3b mPOWER the individual will be critical in the operationalising and transition of all new systems and tools. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES KEY RESULTS AREAS Work very closely with the Operations architect and other members of the Project Symphony team and system teams across the mPOWER program to drive a robust set of operational requirements into system design and development. Provide, detail and own requirements into various ongoing system developments. This will also include detailed operational use cases for NOC L1L2 and Operations L3. Drive the operations input into the SES system level design. Drive the successful completion of operational criteria inside tool and system developments Create technical CONOPS documentation around the operational environment Collaborate with other functional leaders to ensure a seamless customer experience is understood and delivered across everything that we do. Support the training program lead in ensuring the right training material is made available pertaining to all tools and systems. Work closely with the enterprise architecture and IT functions to ensure a fully cohesive set of IT services and products are transitioned into operations. REQUIREMENTS Master or PhD in electronics, networks, telecommunications or a related field is required. At least 5 years of professional experience in the fields of space hardware related to platform and payload data handling equipment units, modules and boards. Knowledge and experience in the design and development of large distributed security systems. Knowledge of the ISO27000 standard. Knowledge of accreditation, certification and audit processes.
