Textile fiber prices are progressively stabilizing after experiencing a sharp volatility in the first three quarters of the year. Nylon prices are further sliding in the current period, however, whereas wool prices are recovering. Prices should not fall to lower levels due to different policies aimed at supporting crude oil and cotton prices whereas the US-China trade conflict however remains a major source of uncertainty. Our tables and charts offer a 12-month price comparison of most used textile fibers, including cotton, polyester, viscose, wool, acrylic and nylon, all being available for download on a weekly basis through our historical csv file.

Viscose fiber prices have stabilized in China where a weakness of demand is being offset by a fall of operating rates at VSF plants. In Pakistan by contrast, prices have been raised for the second consecutive week, mostly due to the new fall of the rupee. Our weekly report covers the viscose/rayon staple fiber and filament markets over the last 12 months. Viscose spun yarn prices in China, India and Pakistan are also available. Cotton linter, cotton pulp and wood pulp prices on domestic and import markets are being tracked over the last 12 months, in addition.

Polyester fiber prices have more or less dropped in China, India and Pakistan in November with margins however moving into different directions at spinning mills, if considering 100% PSF yarns. Spinners have begun digesting inventories before being able to lower their offers. The yarn/fiber spread has improved in China and India, however dropping in Pakistan. Our monthly report compares polyester staple fiber and polyester spun yarn prices in China, India and Pakistan, in both local currency terms and US$ terms. Gross margins of spinners are also calculated on a monthly basis. Historical data back to 2007 are available for download.

The fall of PTA prices in the past two days could result in lower polyester price levels in China, whereas a sharp decline of inventories could mean that demand and prices could rise, on the other hand.
