The sharp decrease of crude oil prices is behind this new wave of price declines, depressing demand as processors prefer limiting their inventory levels and cutting operating rates all along the polyester chain. Viscose fiber prices have further declined in the last seven days in China, but could now stabilize after inventories have been eventually reduced at spinning mills. VSF prices have also been lowered in Pakistan. Our weekly report covers the viscose/rayon staple fiber and filament markets over the last 12 months. Viscose spun yarn prices in China, India and Pakistan are also available. Cotton linter, cotton pulp and wood pulp prices on domestic and import markets are being tracked over the last 12 months, in addition.

Italian state lender cited as controller of merged TIM-Open Fiber broadband unit

(Telecompaper) Italian state lender CDP could end up as the controlling shareholder of a new entity combining the fixed broadband network of Telecom Italia (TIM) and Open Fiber, according to unnamed sources cited by Italian daily La Repubblica. TIM had previously announced that it was open to talks with wholesale-only operator Open Fiber about merging their respective fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) assets and has reportedly discussed the idea with CDP and utility giant Enel, the 50 percent shareholders of Open Fiber.
