Polyester chain prices were this Monday bottoming out in Asia, over a rebound of crude oil prices during the weekend. Demand could also have been triggered by a need to replenish stocks ahead of Chinese holidays, due in only two weeks. Credit easing aimed at stimulating a slowing down Chinese economy may also boost commodity prices. Polyester fiber prices are now stabilized in China where material costs are staying relatively firm, in line with more resisting crude oil prices. In Pakistan, PSF prices have even been raised in the last days, reflecting the higher cost of Chinese imports. Textile fiber prices have continued falling in the last weeks before eventually stabilizing over a rebound of crude oil prices and a return to optimism on financial and commodity markets. Polyester, viscose, acrylic or nylon 6 prices are however not expected sharply recovering in the coming period, partly due to seasonal trends, with Chinese holidays looming. The slowing down economic growth in China is also negatively affecting global demand.
