Polyester prices are surprisingly bottoming out in China, over a rebound of crude oil prices fueling anticipations of higher prices later this year. Demand is however expected slowing down in July, which should limit any rise of polyester prices. Polyester chain prices have further declined in the past week, especially paraxylene and MEG prices whereas PTA prices were once more resisting. Strong demand for polyester should continue supporting intermediate prices in the coming period.
