Main responsibilities For our activities in ESOC, we are currently looking for an Communication Officer and Event Manager that will cover the following tasks Maintenance of regular contacts with media, including social media Maintenance of a dedicated media and VIP management database Convento within access rights granted Organisation of media and special events, including briefing of speakers and followup of requests from media Setup of outreach events agreed in the ESA communication plan Support to launch and mission events Execution of events and tasks defined in partnerships and cooperation agreements Support to social media campaigns Handling of media requests and country desk web pages Set up of exhibitions related to OPS matters and country desk needs Detailed conceptual plan for the implementation of the events. Ideal candidate Specific Competence Requirements Good knowledge and at least four years experience in the following areas o International Media and Social media, and o Science, engineering or technological communication. A good synthesis ability and a basic understanding and interest for science is needed Good spoken and written English and German and French Master degree in Journalism, Communication, Business Administration or Political Sciences Good interaction skills and capacity to work under stressful situations A fair knowledge in the following areas will be considered an additional advantage o Web applications, o Audiovisual tools o Graphic design and layout A highlevel of flexibility, good organisational and communication skills High degree of desktop computer literacy MSOffice products, publishing software and social media channels. It includes the following tasks linked to the organisation of events Dealing with information requests and dispatching of media interview requests Overall management of information and promotional material Provision of various logistic support linked to the organisation of events Documentation management, Organisation of meetings, including preparation of agenda Preparation of action lists and follow up of open actions related to the organisation of events Organisation of the visitors service, including management of the flow of visit requests, liaising with security personnel regarding access control, arrangement of staff lectures and catering for special visits, distribution of information material.
