Your Tasks The key person, shall provide service in the area of routine monitoring, development and operation of the Clients dissemination systems. The duties range from the support to the operation of the various dissemination components, to the analysis, implementation and testing of new data streams and monitoring and reporting functions. It also includes the settingup and implementation of operational procedures, and the coordination with external organisations and service providers. The tasks for this service shall include Provision of service for routine operations of the dissemination and encryption functions within the Ground Segments, including performance monitoring and in the case of anomalies, the identification and application of firstline corrective actions. Provision of service for the operations of data encryption functions in the ground and space segment of our Clients programs Control, population and operation of dissemination related databases and configuration files for both inhouse and remote systems Support to the preparation, validation and maintenance of ground segment operational procedures Provision and support to dissemination services related training of the Control Centre Team Contribution to the analysis and resolution of user enquiries related to dissemination services Support to the validation, verification and rollout of new releases of dissemination and encryption software Support to the HW and SW configuration of EUMETCast Reception Stations Support to the rollout and validation of new releases of EUMETCast Reception Station SW packages Investigation into system anomalies that impact on the data dissemination services Generation of Engineering Change Proposals to improve the operational effectiveness of the encryption and dissemination functions Support to design, implementation and verification testing of corrections and improvements Coordination of the operational validation of releases and changes affecting the dissemination system Coordination of the implementation of new data flows Definition and implementation of dissemination service monitoring and reporting tools, and generation of related reports Participation in meetings and reviews. Your Profile In addition to having a University degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline, the key person shall have minimum 5 years experience in operations or software maintenance of realtime data dissemination systems, and be familiar with DVB satellite communications and ground segment operations. The Key person shall have significant work experience on operating system level in major Linux distributions and Windows Windows 7, 8, 1 0. For the accomplishment of the listed tasks, knowledge and experience of the following is mandatory Basic System administrator skills Configuration, installation and scripting for Linux and Windows Computer literacy, including Evaluationanalysis of systemapplication events and logs Tool based presentation of logs and results Excel etc. Monitoring of near real time data flows in large computer networks Satellite based and terrestrial data distribution systems Provision of near realtime data services in a highavailability environment 247 First and second level support in data services Interaction with endusers Coordination of system changes and interfaces with external organisations Encryption technologies, USB smart cards, TripleDES Formalised hardwaresoftwaresystem testing Configuration control. We are recruiting for an engineer to coordinate and conduct the dissemination of products extracted from satellite data Meteosat, Metop, Jason, Sentinel3 and to support the continued evolution of a variety of data dissemination systems. In this role you will act as the operations interface to both internal and external data providers for the setup of new dissemination services. Additionally you will prepare and maintain operational procedures for the dissemination systems and will configure data flows within the multimission system. Part of your responsibilities will involve managing both the satellite based and terrestrial EUMETCast multicasting services, providing EuropeanAfrican and worldwide coverage respectively. You will also be expected to support the evolution of dissemination systems to ensure that the additional requirements of the next generation satellite systems are fulfilled. This will require activities to be undertaken such as the analysis of performance requirements, the definition of subsystem interfaces and support to testing and validation. Alongside a University degree in Telecommunications, Physics, Electronics of Software Engineering or equivalent you will need to demonstrate practical professional experience in routine operations, testing and validation of systems supporting timecritical data services. Knowledge and experience in disseminating large volumes of data via satellite andor terrestrial Wide Area Networks is also required, as are excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability to apply these to interactions within a team and between teams.
