For our activities at EUMETSAT, we are looking for a Dissemination Engineer for the Sentinel3 mission. Sentinel3 is a Low Earth Orbiting mission to support services relating to the marine and global land environment, with capability to serve further atmospheric and cryosphericbased application areas. The objectives of the Sentinel3 mission encompass the commitment to consistent, longterm collection of remotely sensed marine and land data, of uniform quality, for operational ocean state analysis, forecasting and service provision, in the context of the Copernicus Services as set up by the European Commission. Tasks The Dissemination Engineer shall provide support to the development and maintenance of the Data Services systems, with special focus on the Sentinel3 Data Dissemination Services. The duties range from gathering requirements, design, implementation, testing, and configuration of EUMETSAT developed dissemination software and related commercial off the shelf software COTS throughout the entire software life cycle including review of similar software. JOB DESCRIPTION Responsibilities Duties Tasks As a member of the Data Services team, the key person shall provide system architecture engineering support primarily for maintenance and evolution but also for routine operations. The particular focus of this post is in the area of multicast dissemination systems. Standby CallOut Support The following provisions shall apply for standby callout support EUMETSAT will specify in advance, on a work package basis, the schedule and scope for standby support. Requests for standby support must be authorised by the EUMETSAT technical representative. During periods of standby support, the key person shall respond to calls by telephone outside normal working hours, and shall provide remote support to Operations. The key person may, by telephone, ascertain the nature of the problem but must be available, if required, to report to the Mission Control Centre within one hour of callout.
