Dissemination Operations Engineer Key Tasks and Responsibilities Our customer is a European organisation providing weather and climaterelated satellite data, images and products for its users. You will have the following responsibilities You will be working onsite as part of the Control Centre Division to support the following tasksareas Routine operations of the dissemination and encryption functions within the Ground Segments Control, population and operation of dissemination related databases and configuration files for both inhouse and remote systems Preparation, validation verification of ground segment operational procedures Dissemination services related training of the Control Centre Team Analysis and resolution of user enquiries related to dissemination services Validation, verification and rollout of new releases of software Investigation into system anomalies on the data dissemination services Generation of Engineering Change Proposals Design, implementation and verification testing of corrections and improvements Coordination of the operational validation of releases and changes Definition and implementation of dissemination service monitoring and reporting tools, and generation of related reports. Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience University degree in a relevant discipline Several years of experience in operations or software maintenance of realtime data dissemination systems DVBsatellite communications and satellite ground segment operations Experience in configuration, installation and scripting for Linux and Windows Familiarity with the monitoring of data flows in large computer networks as well as the provision data services in a highavailability environment Knowledge of first and second level support in data services, formalised hardwaresoftwaresystem testing and configuration control Ability to work independently as well as good communication skills Fluency in English is mandatory French would be an asset. Tasks As a member of the Dissemination Services Team within the Maintenance and Engineering Division, the Consultant shall provide support to the maintenance activities of the dissemination systems. The focus is evenly split between support on the evolution of the dissemination software applications, systems, related documentation and the support to routine maintenance activities including some software developments. In particular the tasks will include Analysis of software and facility architectures with respect to their migration to new technologies and architectures, and to modern solutions Preparation, validation, and maintenance of ground segment maintenance and operational procedures and technical documentation Support to the routine maintenance of the systems, by monitoring the performance, maintaining data flows and, in case of anomalies, identifying and applying appropriate firstline corrective actions. Essential requirements In addition to having a University degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline, the Consultant shall have a software engineering background and spanned the expertise clearly into related system architectures and maintenance of applications used for large scale operational nearreal time missions using file transfer technologies.
