Our Space Client based in Portugal is a leading midsized space company and central provider of lightweight structures composite and metal, deployable structures, thermal hardware like MLI multilayer insulations and reentry technology and Mechanical Ground Support Equipment MGSE mainly for space applications. Flight hardware is already onboard a telecommunication mission AlphaSat, a VEGAlauncher, and on the Mars Orbiter ExoMars 2016. They are currently involved in developments for more than ten further missions including MLI flying to Jupiter and a structural assembly for an instrument onboard the International Space Station ISS. Our Client is responsible for design, analysis, manufacturing, assembly, test and integration of related hardware. Due to their rapid growth and in the light of current and coming projects on composite materials and metal assemblies for flight missions, the client is seeking to expand their Materials and Processes Development Team by four engineers. Consequently, we are searching for excellence with the following profile Job Profile As we are looking for 4 new engineers, this job profile is more generic. Being a Development Engineer, you are responsible for the execution of specific work packages in the frame of development projects on highend technical hardware. Maintaining the schedule and delivering according to the client specifications are our major goals. You will perform mechanical designs partly incl. CAD manufacturing drawings, engineering calculations hand calculations andor structural analysis, plan, coordinate evaluate manufacturing and characterization test campaigns and support project management activities. Reporting of the results is mostly required in form of Technical Notes. Our relations are international oriented therefore, occasional travelling is involved in this position, mainly in Europe. One very important share of the work will concern the development of manufacturing processes for composite parts struts, small panels and structures, in collaboration with internal and external development team members. Therefore you should be enthusiastic in performing manufacturing trials, full of ideas for process improvements, curious on material behaviors and proud on positive test results. One of the four new jobs will include between 20 and 50 Product Assurance tasks like hardware inspections, material income inspections, quality reporting, nonconformance control, process control, audits, etc. These tasks will be performed in accordance to processes and procedures defined in our Quality Management Handbook and our associated certification to the standard EN91002016. Qualifications Masters degree in mechanical, aerospace, chemical, physics engineering Applicants should have as a minimum More than 4 years of experience in project execution Preferably experience in Space related projects Knowledge andor interest in materials and structures engineering Knowledge in lightweight constructions for aerospace applications Skilful on analytical calculation Organized and experienced on activities planning Autonomous working approach, accurate working Outstanding problemsolving capacity Ability and motivation to report the analysis results in respective documentation Ability and motivation to present the analysis results in meetings with Customers Good English skills writing and speaking Microsoft Office minimum MS Word, MS Excel, Power Point. The following are not essential but would be considered advantageous 4 years or more of relevant experience Experience in manufacturing and test engineering CAD design capabilities and knowledge in CADtools preferred INVENTOR Knowledge in space flight hardware projects and respective environmental requirements Knowledge about ESA ECSS standards and ISO9001 andor EN9100. The team will be required to operate a small mechanical and electrical workshop to support the maintenance and operation of the Test Centre and the laboratories that are on the ESTEC site. Your Tasks Include Overview Planning of all the activities Interface with the customers Realisation of products Administration and documentation of the workshop tasks Organisation of repair and maintenance Task 1 Product manufacturing Discussion with workshop Customer to agree on manufacturing Provide manufacturing advise Minor works may require handsketches to be drafted by the service contractor in agreement with the Customer request Registration of request for work Preparation of proposal effort estimate and material need for each fulfilled request larger than 1 hour Realisation of work Inspection, documentation redaction ifwhen applicable Request Customer satisfaction for each fulfilled request larger than 1 hour Task 2 Maintenance, Planning, Administration, Procurement Maintain overall planning of workshop for all activities work requests, maintenance, repair Maintain machine elog book Liaise with ESA suppliers in charge of the machines maintenance to schedule it and follow it up to meet machine maintenance plan Liaise with ESA supplier in charge of the electrical inspection to schedule it and follow it up to meet inspection plan. This job is to design structures and mechanisms for the nextgeneration of spacecraft and planetary rovers for ispace, inc. The ideal candidate will have experience in integrated design for manufacturing and robotics applications. The job includes all phases in design, from helping a team to define system architecture, to design and simulation, to supporting small scale manufacturing. Prior experience with high reliability designs for example in aerospace, medical or automotive industries, designformanufacture and finite element analysis is required. The ideal candidate has demonstrated experience in composite material design and fabrication, and knowledge of electronics and aerospace or space science topics.
