China Yarn Prices: Domestic and Import Markets (Weekly Report)

Spun yarn prices are dropping in China, with polyester yarn prices more significantly declining, in line with the sharp fall of staple fiber prices in the last two weeks. Viscose spun prices are now also sliding, after VSF prices have begun retreating back to lower levels. Yarn import prices have continued decreasing in the past seven days. Our weekly report covers the China yarn domestic and import market indicators, as well as local market prices in Qianqing and Shaoxing (Zhejiang). Prices of a large number of counts are released for spun cotton, polyester, viscose and blends. Import prices are also available for yarns from India, Indonesia, Pakistan, and Vietnam. Domestic and import yarn prices are compared. All data are available for download.

Cotton Prices on International and Domestic Markets (Weekly Report)

Cotton prices could rebound in the next year in China, over a lack of state reserves and a need to import quality cotton. Chinese demand for foreign cotton would therefore support prices on the international market. New York's futures would not necessarily reflect international trends, due to additional tariffs depressing China's demand for US cotton. Our weekly cotton report covers the international futures market in New York and China, and the physical indicator "A Index". Polyester and viscose fiber prices have dropped from their record levels. Spun yarn prices have stayed very firm in the past days on India's domestic market whereas cotton yarn export prices were further falling by contrast. Demand from China could now be depressed, in line with the low level of textile production currently in this country. Our review of Indian yarn prices covers the domestic and export markets, including carded and combed cotton, poly-cotton, poly-viscose, 100% polyester and 100% viscose. Yarn prices are compared with fiber prices offering latest trends of spinners' margins. Market fundamentals are available on a monthly basis, including production and exports.
