Position Reference 819 We are currently looking for a Flight Dynamics Operations Engineer Science Missions RSPJUICEEUCLID Attitude Monitoring to work at our clients premises in the city of Darmstadt, Germany. The primary areas of responsibility is GNC monitoring and control and orbit determination and control for Science Missions, covering tasks in the domains of orbit determination, trajectory optimisation, GNC command generation and GNC telemetry monitoring. The key person may be requested to assume the responsibility and perform activities for additional service, missions and activities within the scope of general Flight Dynamics operations engineering services. The key person will be primarily assigned to a particular service within the Science Missions but with the possibility of supporting other service andor missions. Service to be provided are primarily related to EXOMARS RSP, Juice and Euclid. Services may also be requested related to GAIA, Bepi Colombo, Mars Express, ExoMars TGO, Hera and Solar Orbiter. Tasks and Activities The scope of work will include Command Generation Execution of and support to operational tasks. Generation of task related command parameters. Generation of task related reports. Mission Planning Support Execution of and support to operational tasks. Generation of mission planning related products, such as schedules and planning input. Attitude and TM monitoring Retrieval of TM of the onboard GNC systems. Decoding and analysis of GNC TM. Sensor and actuator calibrations. Generation of auxiliary data for mission exploitation. Trajectory optimisation Trajectory definition. Analysis and implementation of trajectory targets and constraints. Trajectory optimisation and determination of optimum manoeuvre strategies. Orbit determination Preprocessing of measurements. Orbit determination. Generation of orbital products. Orbit geometry analysis. Flight Dynamics Application Layer Maintenance of elements of the Flight Dynamics Application Layer. Flight Dynamics System Development Specification of modifications, enhancements and additions to existing software elements. Implementation of modifications, enhancements and additions to existing software elements. Installation of modifications, enhancements and additions to existing software elements on operational platforms design, coordination and implementation of tests. Participation in tests. Setup procedures. Flight Dynamics SubSystem configuration. Coordination of internal and external interfaces and actitivities across subsystems. General Flight Dynamics operations engineering activities. Skills and Experience The following skills and experience are mandatory University degree in a relevant engineering field, astronomy, mathematics or physics. Very good skills in calculus in one or several variables.. Skills in numerical methods for equations solving, integration of differential equations, function approximation and interpolation, optimisation, linear algebra problems. Very good skills in classical mechanics, including kinematics and dynamics of point masses, dynamics of rigid bodies, dynamics expressed in noninertial frames, conservation laws in mechanics, gravitational forces and field, orbit dynamics, keplerian orbits and Kepler laws. Skills to apply above knowledge to develop solutions to technical problems in cooperation with customers and other experts. Ability to define, implement, validate and operate software which applies the above solutions, using C as main programming language knowledge of UnixLinux, scripting languages and Fortran 77952003 is a valuable asset. Will to take operational responsibility in multidiscipline teams. Coordinate and interact with other service providers in operations and other fields. Ability to work independently. Familiarity with the ESOC environment. Familiarityexperience with Flight Dynamics operations engineering tasks. Experience dealing with external interfaces. Experience with Linux, network services and protocols, and system administration. The ability to multitask efficiently working on multiple activities, multiple subsystems and if applicable multiple missions simultaneously. Fluency in English, both in speech and writing. The following skills would be highly desirable Being familiar with different representations of rotation in 3D, thus including the representation of SC attitude cosine direction matrix, Euler symmetric parameters quaternions, Eulerangles,.... For our customer, ESOC in Darmstadt, Germany, we are seeking an experienced Data Systems Management Software Engineer to support the technical management and operation of their data systems used for the operations of Earth Observation space missions. Responsibilities As a Mission Data Systems Software Engineer your responsibilities will be related to the technical management of the mission data systems used for spacecraft operations, which include Mission Control Systems MCS, Mission Planning Systems, Operational Simulators, Service Provision Data Centre system and advanced software applications. You may also be assigned responsibility and perform activities for additional projects and activities within the scope of overall Mission Data Systems services. The initial area of responsibility is for the following mission systems and activities Aeolus MCS S2K based BIOMASS MCS S2K based FLEX MCS S2K based Migration of EO missions to the new EGOSCC software infrastructure and preparation of future EO EGOSCC mission systems Support to the division RD activities Support may as well be extended to also cover other missions hence providing a prospect of long term continuity. Knowledge of both EGSCCbased and S2Kbased MCS systems will be needed.
