Client and Location For one of our Clients, we are currently recruiting for a Data Warehouse Development Support for their location in Maastricht, the Netherlands. Our Client is an intergovernmental organisation with 41 Members and 2 Comprehensive Agreement States. They are committed to building, together with their partners, a Single European Sky that will deliver the Air Traffic Management ATM performance required for the twentyfirst century and beyond. Tasks and Responsibilities The candidate is to execute, in the context of the creation of the PABI PostOPS Analysis and Business Intelligence data warehouse, software development assignment to automate the ingestion of a number of data sources of varying complexity such that they become available for selfservice analytics. The candidate shall fully cooperate with personnel from other contractors with our Client to achieve assignments. For each data source, the development assignment activities entail Source analysis Reverse engineering and maintaining metadata for source systems and all layers of DWH enabling automation of loading patterns Modelling of the source data in Data Vault 2.0 standard Automation of Data Vault 2.0 loading patterns using SQL, Groovy, ODI SDK and ODI KM Development of an ODI configuration to automate ingestion of the source data into a staging area Improvements of a framework for automatic generation of ODI transformations of the data from staging area into the Raw Data Vault and further to some areas of Business Vault layer Development of transformations of the data from Raw Data Vault to Business Vault layer, including implementation of Soft Rules Development of transformations of the data to selfservice presentation layer including dimensional models, 3NF relational models and flat wide denormalized reporting tablesviews. Development of historical data purging rules Technical and userfacing documentation of the data modelling design and transformation design Development, execution and reporting of integration and user acceptance tests, including example Tableau visualisations. Experience and Education Completed professional technical education in Computer Science or Information Technology, or equivalent professional knowledge is essential Minimum 5 years experience as a Data Warehouse Development Support is essential Strong Knowledge of Oracle VLDB is essential Strong knowledge of ODI and ODI automation using ODI SDK is essential Strong knowledge with Data Vault specially Data Vault 2.0 is essential Successfully manufactures technical and userfacing documentation of data modelling and transformation of design is essential Good understanding of Jira is an advantage Strong focus on 4D paths of aircraft through airspace, not only flown but also as evolving predictions. Experience in handling such kind of spatiotemporal data in a selfservice BI context is therefore of advantage Experience in modelling and handling spatiotemporal data is an advantage Experience with modelling air traffic, sector and airspace configuration, staff rostering and allocation, flow measures, weather delays, and or occurrences Fluency in English language is mandatory. Telefonica mulling sale of data centre business - report

(Telecompaper) Telefonica is evaluating the sale of its data centre business with a view to cutting down its debt pile, according to unnamed sources cited by Bloomberg. The company has hired financial advisers and is currently in the process of gauging interest from potential buyers including data centre specialist firms as well as infrastructure and private-equity funds, said the sources, adding that the sale could earn the Spanish group EUR 500 million to EUR 1 billion, depending on the assets included.

Main responsibilities The successful candidate will concentrate on the following tasks Preparatory work for future Human and Robotic missions. OnSite software development for adhoc RD projects, innovation tasks, Lab projects. Development and Maintenance of Mission Data Systems. Specification and management of Software Requirements. Contractual and technical work for the start of a new MDS project. Running the MDS software development and maintenance projects. Support the Management and perform ESOC internal activities related to MDS deployment, testing, configuration etc according to ESOC internal processes. Support to Missions critical activities. Organisation of Software Support SWS onsite environment preparation. Role of Software Coordinator. Support to missions during the whole lifetime. Review of MIRD and contribution to MIP. Definition of external and internal interfaces. Contribution to the SFIRD, GSSRD, GSSTP and review of SGICD. Support to Ground Segment Reviews. Support to regular progress meetings with Project and ESOC team. Support SVTSOVTE2E tests and in general FCT activity. Support mission closure and retirement of SW and HW items. Support to 3rd Party and Special Projects. Support the ESA service manager in defining the technical and organisational setup of ESA service, including SLA and costing. Interact with ESA external 3rd party entities e.g. EUD, GSA, DLR, NASA under agreement of TR. Support ESA from data systems perspective towards external entities, in particular to recommend agreement on technical and organisational interfaces. Coordinate the inhouse and industrial data systems team. Interact with companies of new member states in preparation process for new activities. Assume the data system architect role for special projects which are not based on reference architecture of ground segments for missions such as SSA, METERON, IAP. Contribute to bring OPSGD and Data Systems perspective in collaborative projects with other ESA entities, in the context of special projects and future missions e.g. NAV, TEC, HRE. Coordinate the inhouse developments of MDS for small missions. Support to study, innovation and standardisation. Prepare proposals. Run approved studies or innovation works. Organise and coordinate joint projects with other agencies in the context of standardisation e.g. interoperability testing, prototyping. Support ESA as a member of international Standardisation working groups. Other tasks Support tasks at division level. Support Quality Management and actively contribute to improve ESOC internal processes and tools. Support to OPSGI infrastructure activities.
