Telespazio VEGA Deutschland has been supporting the European Space Industry for over 30 years, including ESA, DLR, EUMETSAT and CNES. This is an opportunity for a motivated and experienced engineer to work for our EUMETSAT customer within a new and interesting space mission. Sentinel3 is a Low Earth Orbiting mission in the context of the Copernicus Services set up by the European Commission. The first satellite, Sentinel3A, is expected to launch mid2015 with the second satellite Sentinel3B operating in tandem and due for launch 18 months later. EUMETSATs monitors and controls Sentinel 3 satellites and generates near realtime and offline products to support the marine user community. Telespazio VEGA offers a permanent position based in EUMETSAT, Darmstadt, Germany with an expected starting date in March 2015. Application closing deadline is October 31st, 2014. RESPONSIBILITIESDUTIES The Dissemination Operations Engineer DOE shall mainly perform tasks related to dissemination in support of Copernicus Sentinel3 during the routine operations phase. The tasks primarily involve the support to the operations of the various dissemination components, the analysis, testing, and implementation of new data streams and the monitoring and reporting. It also includes the settingup and implementation of operational procedures, and the coordination with external organizations and service providers. QUALIFICATIONSEXPERIENCE University degree 5 years of experience in operations of realtime data dissemination systems, and be familiar with DVBS satellite communications and ground segment operations Demonstrated experience in the provision of near realtime data services in a high availability environment 247. ESSENTIAL SKILLS Demonstrated experience in Encryption technologies, USB smart cards, TripleDES Demonstrated experience in DVB based receiveonly earth stations for satellite communications Demonstrated experience in IP multicast data distribution systems, such as Tellicast provided by Newtec Very good command of the English language Ability to work in international teams Good interpersonal and communication skills. Operations Engineer onboard memory and communications subsystem Sentinel2 mf The Mission Sentinel2 is an earth observation mission based on two low earth orbiting observation satellites to collect both land management with relevance toward agriculture, forestry, disaster control and humanitarian relief. The Challenge Terma is looking for an experienced systems engineer to support our customer, the European Space Operation Centre, with the commissioning of specific flight equipment, including preparatory activities. Primary responsibility lie in the areas of spacecraft operations engineering or, more specifically concerning Sentinel2s mass memory and formatting unit, Sband and Xband subsystems and will take over responsibility for commissioning of these units. Tasks and Responsibilities The key person will be primarily assigned to Sentinel2, but with the possibility of supporting other missions within the Earth Observation Missions Division. The primary area of responsibility for the key person is Mass Memory and Formatting Unit, SBand and XBand Subsystems, but the candidate may be requested to assume the responsibility and perform activities for additional subsystems or systems within the scope of general SOE activities. The key person will be responsible for MMFU, SBand and XBand Commissioning. Regarding LEOP, heshe will be assigned to a minor role with limited responsibilities, as the MMFU and XBand will not be activated. Other areas of responsibility and support specific to Sentinel2 are Validation, test and operation of the MCS Validation, test and operation of the Simulator Generation, validation and maintenance of the FOP primarily on MMFU, SBS, XBS, but also for other subsystems Support for test and operate the NDIU Support for FOS procurement, integration and tests Review of satellite documents Mission Planning.
