RHEA is currently recruiting a Mission Control Operations Engineer to support the MSG Ground Segment at our clients premises in Darmstadt, Germany. Supplying context and initial analyses that may aid the investigation of anomalies Maintaining mission control related documentation such as facility user guides Contributing to the definition and raising of formal engineering changes concerning the mission control function, attending the relevant review meetings if necessary Contributing to the definition, implementation, and testing of any changes to the mission control application software or to inhouse supporting software, in liaison with any external contractors Contributing to the operational validation of new mission control application software, including testing of anomalynoncompliance correction and new functionality. EO Calibration Quality Control Engineer Optical Instruments SCJ 2775 Summary A great opportunity for an experienced engineer to join an existing team supporting the calibration, data processing and quality control of optical Earth Observation data, with particular focus on the ATSR series of instruments. Background A range of roles within the team are envisaged including detailed studies into the calibration of specific instruments, management of routine QC and calval activities and the development and testing of new data processing software. Support is particularly required for ATSR Calibration StudyThis is a researchstyle project, the aim of which is to explore and verify the calibration of the SWIR channel across all three ATSR instruments and looking forward to the SLSTR instrument using accepted community standards, for both nadir and forward viewing geometries, by Conducting a literature review to establish current best practice in SWIR calibration and approaches used for the ATSR instruments so far. Researching possible reference data sets that could be used for the verification. One particular goal is to compare ATSR SWIR data with an additional CEOS reference site httpcalvalportal.ceos.orgceoslandnetsites. Other possibilities include techniques using cloud targets and sunglint. Conducting an intercomparison interrogating the ATSR data, comparing to the reference data and reporting results. If appropriate, making recommendations for changes to the relevant data processing algorithms for ATSR12 and AATSR or defining a postprocessing correction, in an Algorithm Theoretical Basis Document ATBD. Prototyping any newrevised processing software routines. Support to the Upgrade of ATSR Processing This is preparatory work for the 4th reprocessing of ATSR data to ensure a smooth transition towards the Sentinel3 mission and products. Tasks would include Overseeing the specification of revised AATSR L1b algorithms and products for alignment with SLSTR Overseeing the implementation of the revised algorithms in new processing software Verification and testing of the new software processing Initial validation of the resulting products Liaison with AATSR expert subcontractors Liaison with the AATSR user community General support to ESA concerning the AATSR mission and transition to SLSTR Routine QC and CalValVEGA provides operational services to monitor the quality of a range of EO instrument data. These services aim to Conduct all QC, CalVal and support activities that can be made operational.
