Senior Controller, Spacecraft Operations O3b Ref SES0602 Region Europe Location Luxembourg Betzdorf Company SES Category Space Operations Position Staff Published 20150610 Context The Senior Spacecraft Controller is responsible for monitoring and control of the O3b constellation in order to maintain its health. In particular, the Senior Spacecraft Controller will need to react to emergencies within approved guidelines and escalate appropriately when needed. The incumbent will also be following regular training sessions and assessment. To ensure 24 hour coverage of the position, the controller will be required to work shifts. Responsibilities Perform daily operations of spacecraft in accordance with approved procedures and the daily operations plan Command the spacecraft and monitoring satellite health Perform routine operations telemetry dumps, AOSLOS from the different ground stations, upload payload daily mission, eclipses, table uploads, etc. React to emergencies within approved guidelines and notify appropriate staff based on escalation procedure Perform offline data analysis Attend regular refresher training sessions in order to maintain a certification level required to perform functions via regular assessment Rehearse on the simulator established nominal and contingency procedures Interface with the Network Operation Center. Experience Qualifications A technicalengineering degree in electronics, aeronautics or equivalent qualifications Experience in satellite operations and ground control systems of minimum five years is required Experience in LEO or MEO environment would be an advantage Willingness to work on shift Excellent operational mindset and awareness Good analytical skills Errorfree performance in high stress situations Excellent written and oral communication skills in English Flexibility, reliability and readiness to work without direct supervision Excellent team spirit Openminded Valid work permit is considered as an advantage. GEO Senior Quality Assurance Consultant

This is a permanent position for an Engineering Consultant with at least 10 years specific experience in Quality and Product Assurance in Aerospace Space programmes. You will require good interpersonal and mediation skills together with experience on QAPA processes on satellite Ground Segments and satellite Mission Control and Operations. You will be placed on assignment based near Frankfurt in Germany for several years. Candidates should ideally be available to start in September 2015 or soon after. Our client is responsible for establishing and operating weather forecasting and Earth observation GEO satellite programmes with associated data telemetry and dissemination operations. Vast quantities of data are produced and user communities throughout the world are able to access both current and historical data sets. The demanding realtime environment places much emphasis on adherence to quality and configuration management standards and procedures. The consultant will be part of the GEO QA team whose work encompasses the implementation of QA processes in support of client activities. The following attributes are essential for this position 1. Significant handson experience in QAPA processes definition, implementation, monitoring and control, and QAPA performance metrics 2. Knowledge and application of aerospacespace Product and Quality Assurance standards 3. Knowledge of and experience in applying ISO 9001 Standards 4. Multiyear experience in the implementation of QA policies and methods in procurement contracts for complex products such as ground segment systems. 5. Experience in providing QA support to SW products throughout their complete development lifecycle. Experience in following HWSW products integration and verification 6. Significant handson experience in using Microsoft Office Suite. 7. Capability of producing and releasing in autonomy Minutes of Meetings and QA reports 8. Experience in application of risk management and lessons learned processes The main working language is English and candidates must be fluent in both reading and writing but knowledge of French also would be advantageous.
