A vacancy has arisen for a GIS Solutions Architect Senior Designer with Airbus Defence and Space. This role is to be home based in Farnborough Guildford, UK this role will required at least a 24 month commitment to work in Abu Dhabi. This role is required for the provision of consultancy support and implementation of GI Solutions Framework for the client. The Senior GIS Solutions Architect will be proficient in GIS, in order to support GeoConsultancy services and other areas of the company business. This role is a multidisciplinary one in Business Development Products and Services definition and Technical Design Coordination. Your main tasks and responsibilities will include Using protocols, processes and standards found within Spatial Data Infrastructure SDI and Service Orientated Architecture SOA you will develop approaches to provide a basis for exploiting the groups capabilities in the delivery of geospatial solutions Use SDI principles to define the way the various components of a geospatial solution fit together in order to meet a business need Apply recognised best practice within the geospatial industry Advise Airbus DS on geospatial policy and development as and when requested Act as a facilitator to resolve the differences between the various stakeholders, suppliers, engineers, and other interested parties involved in the project in order to reach a spatial solution which everyone accepts and which is valid and architecturally sound To attend meetings and provide advice instruction at the clients request as appropriate Focus on the architecturally significant aspects of a design and identify areas of high risk Work closely with the client in order to identify their requirements and suggest appropriate solutions and architectural approach In partnership with the technical specialists within the Airbus DS Group seek to develop new and innovative solutions to current and future business and client needs Develop appropriate technical architectures for the dissemination and delivery to users of services so that the full value of the information can be exploited Deliver technical content to proposals, bids and quotes Generate own ideas and initiatives that capitalise on existing and prospective strengths both within Airbus entities and external partners to drive substantive, additional benefit to clients. We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience A Masters degree in relevant subject or equivalent experiencetraining GIS, Software Engineering, Computer Science Good level of technical knowledge and experience in the use of geospatial data and applications, including database and web technology Proven experience using GIS products in a commercial environment Proven experience with Geospatial standards OGC, WMS, WFS, etc. Web technologies Development Tools Open Source or COTS Database technology Oracle, Postgres, etc.. Good track record of customer liaison Overseas experience in particular Middle East A proven ability to communicate effectively to staff and management including the ability to deliver technical presentations to internal and external audiences Selfmotivating and be able to work as part of a team as well as working in an independent discipline. The Senior QA Engineer role on MSG4 will provide QA support to the LEOP and System Commissioning activities, including the related Reviews, and to the hand over of the MSG System to the Operations and Services to Users Department OPS. TASKS EXPERIENCE The Key Person will be part of the GEO QA Team which provides support to the GEO Programmes MTG and MSG. Herhis tasks will be allocated in support of the MTG Ground Segment activities, in particular in support of mission operations systems, in accordance with the plan and priorities assigned by the GEO QA Programme Manager and the MTG GS QA Engineer in closed coordination with the MTG and MSG Management level of the area of activities where the Key Person is allocated. In this framework, the main tasks of the Key Person will include the following 1. Implement EUMETSAT QA policies in the assigned areas, in accordance with the MTG and MSG System QA plans and all relevant applicable Standards, Technical and QA documents, Procedures and Working Practices that are applicable to the ongoing projects phases 2. Ensure that the assigned MTG and MSG processes are implemented in accordance with their relevant QA working practices and procedures 3. Support maintenance of GEO QA Working Practices and procedures Suggest and support the establishment of improvements of the available QA documentation, aiming at process efficiency and synergy 4. Support the establishment of metrics to measure the effectiveness of the main processes within the assigned areas. Provide proactive suggestions for process improvement, based on these metrics and other observations 5. Work with and in support of the MTG Ground Segment Teams and of the MSG Operations Preparations Team, in order to ensure that Quality Assurance policies and methods are taken into account during all involved lifecycle phases 6. Provide dedicated QA support to the production of the technical and programmatic documents relevant to the MTG Programme, MTG Ground Segment and its facilities and elements 7. Critically review technical and management documents issued in support to the MTG GS Facilities procurement 8. Support, as Review secretary, the Programme Reviews and Check Points planned for MTG and MSG, ensuring that the relevant Organisation Note arrangements are correctly implemented, and that the support tool to be used for the Reviews is properly configured and available 9. Support the MTG GS Facilities procurement activities and the connected processes, ensuring that the applicable QA requirements are correctly implemented 10. Support QA activities during the Facilities development and production process, interfacing with the EUMETSAT Technical Officers, the relevant crossdivisional EUMETSAT Teams and with the Industry Quality Assurance QAProduct Assurance PA counterparts 11. Support monitoring of the implementation of the agreed QA Plans and procedures within the Industry and others Organisations including ESA activities, including Subtiers 12. Support coordination of the anomaly and nonconformances review process in the assigned areas 13. Support the preparation and conduct of QA audits on Industry and within EUMETSAT in the areas connected with MTG GS activities, in line with the MTG GS Contractors Suppliers Quality Assurance Audit Plan 14. Support regular reporting to the MTG GS QA Engineer, to the GEO QA Manager, and to GS Manager concerned on all QA aspects related to MTG GS and MSG4 activities 15. Attend and support weekly GEO QA Team coordination meetings and programme meetings if so required. PROFILE The Key Person is required to have the skills, capability and experience level adequate to ensure the fulfilment with a high degree of autonomy of the tasks indicated in Section 3. A University degree in Engineering, Physics, Computer Sciences or a related discipline is required. The Key Person shall have at least 10 years of specific experience in Quality and Product Assurance QAPAin AerospaceSpace Programmes, and have good interpersonal and mediation skills. Specific experience on QAPA processes on satellite Ground Segments, satellite Mission Control and Operations is required, and experience on Satellite data processing will be considered an advantage. For the fulfilment of the tasks listed in Section 3, candidates shall be in possession of the following mandatory skills 1. Significant handson experience in QAPA processes definition, implementation, monitoring and control, and QAPA performance metrics 2. Knowledge and application of aerospacespace Product and Quality Assurance standards 3. Knowledge of and experience in applying ISO 9001 Standards 4. Multiyear experience in the implementation of QA policies and methods in procurement contracts for complex products such as ground segment systems. 5. Experience in providing QA support to SW products throughout their complete development lifecycle. Experience in following HWSW products integration and verification 6.
