For our project in Noordwijk in the Netherlands we are looking for a Product Assurance and Safety Support Engineer fm at ESTEC. Tasks Support the ESA PA Safety Manager for designated projects in conducting, monitoring assessing the implementation of the PA Safety Programme. This includes support to any or all of the following activities Establishing the PAS requirements baseline for all elements of the project, in compliance with the ESA general Product Assurance and Safety policy Produce and implement plans, define inputs, outputs, participants, responsibilities, interfaces, coordinate efforts of participants, and produce resulting consolidated inputs. Reviewing contractors plans, specifications and effort proposed for the execution of the project PAS programme Produce reports of review activities performed e.g. documents reviewed, checklists used, spot check performed and conclusionsrecommendations. Monitoring project PA status identify relevant PA issues, including NCR SPR Waivers Problems Critical Items and systematically tracking all items. Produce monthly reports of monitoring activities performed e.g. inspections, checks, visits, reviews, including conclusions and recommendations. Assessing the implementation of PAS requirements by contractors, participating in design and safety reviews and directing the necessary preventive or corrective actions Produce monthly reports with assessment activities performed e.g. documents reviewed, checklistsused, spot check performed, contribution to design and safety reviews, and activities related to preventivecorrective action. Representing ESA in the Boards established within the project for the disposition of Nonconformances Failure Reviews, Test Reviews, etc. Produce reports of participation to boards, indicating the contribution made to these boards e.g. review of agendas, participants, minutes of meeting, action follow up, closeout. Guiding and monitoring the application and procurement of EEE parts, materials and processes and controlling implementation of applicable requirements Produce reports on guidance provided, monitoring activities performed and status of compliance to applicable requirements. Monitoring the manufacturing, integration and test activities with quality assurance audits, mandatory and key inspection points, test witnessing and configuration inspections Produce report on activities performed with conclusion and recommendations. Defining the formal acceptance requirements and conducting the Acceptance Reviews of all contractual deliverable items Produce and implement plans for the preparation of the formal acceptance requirements, defining steps, inputs, outputs, participants, responsibilities, interfaces, and coordinating efforts of participants to produce resulting consolidated inputs to project documents. Produce also reports on the activities performed for conduction of Acceptance Reviews. Supporting the organisation management of the support from all PA disciplines Controlling NCR Waivers Problems Critical Items. Produce meeting agendas, check that all inputs are available for the NRB or CCB, check that all needed participants are involved, produce NRB or CCB minutes of meeting, followup on actions identified, ensure proper nonconformancewavierproblemcritical item closeout. Produce also reports on control activities performed. PA for the verification, qualification, acceptance delivery activities. The launch campaign. Participating in progress meetings and CCB meetings. Produce inputs to the meeting and whenever requested, produce meeting agendas, check that all inputs are available, check that all needed participants are involved, produce minutes of meeting, followup on actions identified, ensure proper closeout. Participating in all project reviews, including safety reviews. Produce reports on all review activities performed e.g. documents reviewed, checklists used, spot check performed, conclusions and recommendations. Reporting project PA status deviations from plan schedule of all of above. Essential requirements For the accomplishment of the listed tasks, knowledge and experience of the following is mandatory A University degree or equivalent in engineering or technical sciences A minimum of 6 years experience in Product Assurance and Quality Assurance in the aerospace domain Good interpersonal, organisation and communication skills, with the ability to work in a diverse team environment Desirable Skills Knowledge of Configuration Management or the implementation of Product Assurance within a quality system certified to ISO 9001 would be an asset. Tasks The Instrument Operations Team IOT within the XMMNewton Science Operations Centre SOC at ESAC provides the System and Software Engineering support of the XMMNewton Science Operations Control System XSCS. The IOT also performs the Data Processing of the XMMNewton science data ODFs as well as the support activities in the Science Operations area in close collaboration with the Mission Operations Control Centre MOC located at ESOC and the Science Support Team SST at ESAC. The main activities of this service position should include but are not limited to Software maintenance of the XSCS XMMNewton SOC Control System Subsystems. XSCS subsystems comprise SCOS 2000 based downlink subsystems PMS, ODS and QLA Non SCOS 2000 based uplink subsystems HRPSXRPSPHS SGS Non SCOS 2000 based service subsystems AMS, XFTS and DTS Migration of the XSCS subsystems to Solaris Virtual Machines Migration of the Solaris8 based subsystems to Solaris10 based Virtual Machines Data Processing of the XMMNewton Data, including Raw TM handling and maintenance, including TCX generation and Long Term Archive Trend Analysis ODF generation and supervision Qcheck support and maintenance with evaluation of results Supervision of ODF Reprocessing In general, support and coordination of overall Science Products Generation Operations Support, including Support to the Instrument Operations Manager Support of activities related to routine payload operations preparation, execution and evaluation Support to the On Board Instrument Software activities Quality Assurance, including Configuration Control support activities and Documentation Management CCB issues handling Maintenance tasks will include both first and second line maintenance. The incumbent holder will keep a strong interaction with the XSCS users on what concerns the daily operations of the XSCS systems. Maintenance activities include the setup and run support to the several chains where XSCS is installed Operational, Reprocessing, Validation, Development and AO Chains. Tasks The Galileo Project, as part of the Galileo Ground Segment Operations Security Unit inside the Galileo Security Office requires engineering support for monitoring and controlling the overall preparation and execution of the Galileo security operations activities, including the associated PRS User Segment activities.
