Configuration and Documentation Management Engineer Copernicus mf Ref. No. 159000 The Mission Our customer, EUMETSAT, will be managing the routine operations of the space missions of the European Copernicus programme. The missions are initially Sentinel3 and Jason3, and later Sentinel4, Sentinel5 and JasonCSSentinel6. The Challenge We are looking for an experienced Configuration and Documentation Management CM DM Engineer who will, as part of EUMETSATs Process Assurance Management Support Division, support the Copernicus Programme and Service Management Office and the Copernicusrelated missions. The tasks of the CM DM Engineer include Implement the Configuration Management and Documentation Management plans, processes and working practices Review and propose improvements to the CM and DM plans Identify all relevant configuration items software, hardware and documents to be managed during Copernicus routine operations, register those items in the CM and DM databases as appropriate, tracking any new versions Ensure that all incoming and outgoing Copernicus documentation is managed according to applicable working practices, including storing and registering in the Documentation Management database and timely releasingdistributing to relevant recipients Control all changes impacting identified configuration items through all defined staged lifecycle steps, in particular ensure that any new item version is deployed only after the formal review and approval of the related change Administrate as required the Anomaly and Change Control Boards regularly organised to review and approve anomaly correction and changes to configuration baselines Monitor and control the hardware and software installation activities, and the deployment of satellite, system or ground segments operational documentation procedures into the relevant controlled areas Keep up to date the mapping between changes including anomalies and software, hardware and document items, together with the mapping between software and hardware items Liaise, coordinate and organise with external operations partners the joint configuration and documentation when and where relevant On demand, develop reporting or monitoring tools to help controlling the consistency and accuracy of the CM and DM databases Timely prepare and present Configuration Status Accounting Reports and documentation reports, as necessary Contribute to the detailed specification of CM or DM tool improvements, and participate to the testing of related new releases Perform configuration and documentation inspections or audits, as planned and whenever requested This is a full time position, located at EUMETSAT in Darmstadt, Germany, and starting in July 2015. Working time is normal office hours. For one of our main customers, EUMETSAT, we are currently looking for a Copernicus S3 Data Processing System and Framework Engineer to support the Sentinel3 Operations with respect to EUMETSATs Marine Payload Data Ground Segment PDGS maintenance in particular anomaly correction and software release process and necessary evolutions, including the necessary coordination of the data processing systems engineering for the related interfaces with the rest of the Sentinel3 ground segment. The consultant shall support the operations, the engineering and the science activities to be undertaken as part of the Copernicus Sentinel3 routine operations. The operational, technical and scientific activities will be conducted under the responsibility of the EUMETSAT Copernicus Sentinel3 Operations Team within the EUMETSAT Operations and User Support Department with the support of the EUMETSAT Technical and Scientific Support Department. Tasks and responsibilities The Key Persons duties will include a range of tasks, from preparing and providing the support of the day to day operation and maintenance currently in the preparation phase, the analysis, and testing of the facilities which also includes the handling of anomalies, design of upgrades and configuration changes for these facilities. The Consultant will be the focal point when it comes to integrating the individual SW Facilities into a data processing system, covering all aspects of system integration and testing, including endtoend testing of the production system. Tasks will also contain the settingup and implementation of maintenance policies and procedures as well as the coordination with external providers of maintenance services. This may also entail the participation in the specification and development of specific monitoring tools for S3. In support to operations, the Key Person may also be required to provide on call support as part of a team of maintenance engineers, especially for the S3 commissioning and initial operations phases. The consultant will report to EUMETSAT Data Processing Systems and Applications Competence Area Manager but also to the WP Managers of the different related Copernicus WPs. Experience and education The consultant shall have the following background 57 years of experience in maintaining and engineering of evolutions of large scale software systems missioninstrument data processing related. Experience in software development lifecycles Software debugging and profiling tools e.g. GDB, DBX, IBM Purify, Valgrind Source code control systems, preferably Subversion and CVS Competence in SW testing, unit test suite maintenance, automated testing, verification and validation.
