Spaceopal is the prime service operations contractor for the European Galileo Satellite Navigation System and manages all Galileo Service Operations. The awarded European Commission EC contract to Spaceopal is more than just its satellites in space. Galileo Service Operations will provide highquality positioning, navigation and timing services to users across the whole world as a civilcontrolled service with guaranteed continuity of coverage. Tasks and Responsibilities The Spaceopal SPO Spacecraft Engineer is a member of the SPO Technical Team. The role requires liaising effectively across all SPO teams and with other GSOp teams, promoting the related information transfer as for tasks below described. The main responsibility is to support the harmonized and coordinated System Engineering processes related to the Space Segment and the activities spanning over all Galileo infrastructure, sites and teams, in accordance with the indications of the Evolution Manager to whom shehe will report on the matter. Processes and activities to be managed and overseen are primarily, but not limited to, the following Support the preparation and Followup of Launch and LEOP activities Followup of Space Segment L2L3 maintenance IOVFOC support investigations and reporting Followup implementation work and reporting of new onboard software version Participation to coordination meetings with space segment manufacturer Close working relationship with the Spaceopal satellite troubleshooting engineering team Cooperation with the SPO System and Ground Segment Engineers GMS and GCS for a harmonized management of the system engineering activities in the framework Development of technical notes, plans and other documentation as required plus regular reports on status of activities Occasionally contribute, as and when required to SPO technical proposal preparation processes liaising with SPO legal and contracts to the execution of other ongoing SPO contracts beyond the scope of GSOp Required Qualification and Experience To be eligible, a candidate must Hold a degree in TelecommunicationsElectronicsInformaticsAerospace Engineering or Physics or Math with at least 5 years of work experience alternatively, 8 years related work experience Have a Systems Engineering formation, developed in the Space industry and in international environmentsprojects Have a technical background on satellites engineering and operations Have proven working experience in space industry, space operations, or satellite services Have experience and background in Satellite Navigation and related mission services engineering Have knowledge and experience in Security and related processes Have experience and background specific to GALILEO program The job requires also Strong problemsolving skills Fast decision making in case of service impacting problems Ability to work in intercultural and geographically distributed work environment Excellent written and verbal communication skills Good interpersonal liaising and communication skills with strong attitude to team work Handson mentality and systematic, selforganized, able to prioritize way of working Fluency in written and spoken English, with knowledge of Italian andor German also appreciated Fluency in standard office automation tools MS Office, Email, Internet, etc. Work location Spaceopal Headquarter Munich, Germany.
