The services will be primarily focused on engineering activities for supporting the procurement, integration and verification IV of Earth observation Data Processing Systems. We require a number of staff with complementary skills and differing levels of experience in order to cover the full range of software engineering tasks to be performed, from software architect to integration and verification, for both new developments and evolutions of existing operational systems. Responsibilities The scope of the complete service to be provided by the team covers the following Software engineering activities for requirements definitionconsolidation and early design phases direct implementation or followup support provided to EUMETSAT teams Software engineering activities for detail design phases and buildup phases also direct implementation or follow up support provided to EUMETSAT teams Software engineering activities for IV, including Definition of AIV plans and test scenarios, specifications and procedures Coordination and implementation of integration activities Coordination and implementation of verification activities Contribution to validation activities Software engineering activities for supporting operations and maintenance corrective and evolutive of the different ground segments or subsegments of EUMETSAT. Optical Instrument Systems Engineer

BACKGROUND EUMETSAT is developing the EUMETSAT Polar System of Second Generation EPSSG that includes MetopSG A and MetopSG B satellites developed and procured through ESA. The EPSSG mission will monitor weather and climate from the midmorning polar orbit over a period of 21 years starting in 202425, based on three successive pairs of MetopSG AB satellites. EUMETSAT is also responsible for the delivery to ESAMetopSG of three Infrared Atmospheric Sounding Interferometers New Generation IASING and two ARGOS4 Advanced Data Collection System ADCS instruments developed and procured by the French Space Agency CNES under cooperation agreement with EUMETSAT. Reporting to the EPSSG Instrument Systems Manager, the EPSSG Optical Instrument System Engineer will followup the CNESled development of the IASING and ARGOS4 instruments, acquire, maintain and share inhouse knowledge on instrument design, performances and operations aspects. As a member of the EUMETSAT Instrument Functional Chain Team involving also instrument scientists, system, ground segment and operations preparation engineers, heshe will support the development, operations preparation and commissioning of the endtoend IASING chain covering all functions from instrument commanding to delivery of products to users. DUTIES Act as the EUMETSAT technical interface for the IASING and ARGOS4 instruments liaising externally with CNES and ESA and internally with System, Ground Segment and Science teams. Followup the development of IASING instruments by participating in relevant progress meeting, reviews and other technical meeting with CNES and their contractor. Support IASING and ARGOS4 instrument testing activities at satellite level. Followup IASING level 1C processor development and interact as point of contact with relevant external and internal entities e.g. CNES, EUMETSAT Science team, Ground Segment team, etc.. As a member of the EUMETSAT IASING Instrument Functional Chain Team, support the resolution of nonconformances Participate and contribute to relevant IASI Sounding Science Working Group ISSWG meetings.
