Copernicus Mission Control Systems Operations Engineer Key Tasks and Responsibilities As Copernicus Mission Control Systems Operations Engineer, you will have the following responsibilities Contribute to the design, development, documentation and maintenance of tools that support the monitoring and operations of the mission control system Perform mission control system operations, including Scheduling and coordination of daily operations Monitor the status and performance of the mission control system and the interfaces to other facilities Perform anomaly investigations Provision of support to critical andor special operations Design, development, documentation and maintenance of mission control and ground segment operations procedures identified from operational needs Contribute to the design, development, documentation and maintenance of specific toolscripts identified from operational needs Contribute to coordination and implementation of modifications to the mission control system, including their documentation, approval, implementation, testing and training Provide oncall support, on an as needed basis Review planned changes to the system configurations for the ground segment to assess potential operational impacts with respect to the mission control system. Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience University degree in engineering or another relevant discipline Operation of spacecraft control systems using SCOS2000 Profound knowledge of developing andor maintaining spacecraft mission control systems software Definition and implementation of the VV activities of spacecraft mission control systems Several years of experiences with UNIXLinux operating systems Fluency in English is mandatory knowledge of another European language is an advantage. Processor Systems Engineer

A vacancy for a Digital Processor System Engineer has arisen within the Communication Processors Group based in Stevenage. The Processor Systems team is at the forefront of the development of digital signal processing payloads for telecommunications satellites, with work undertaken for a range of UK and international customers on a variety of exciting space projects. The successful candidate will be subject to UK National Security Clearance in order to undertake related work in accordance with business needs. The responsibility of the group covers research and development of new digital processor products, manufacture and test of flight electronic equipment through to inorbit operational support. Our products form the heart of modern telecommunications satellite payloads, handling many thousands of channels and required to operate continuously and reliably, for many years, in the harsh environment of space. The main focus of the work undertaken by the team is the development of advanced communications and scientific satellite payloads employing state of the art digital processing techniques. Currently we are developing our 5th processor generation using new technologies to boost our capability at least tenfold. To achieve this we work closely with hardware engineers, ASIC FPGA designers, systems engineers and test engineers. In this role, you will have the opportunity to get involved in all phases from early concept through to delivering hardware and providing operational support. Key activities will include Concept feasibility and generation of new ideas. Development of digital processor architectural design and specification, flowing down from customer requirements. Digital signal processing algorithm design, simulation and analysis. Laboratory prototyping and testing of new processor designs. Supporting customer reviews.Essential attributes At minimum, a 21 degree or equivalent qualification in Physics, Mathematics, Electronic Engineering, Computer Science or related subject. Excellent analytical and problem solving skills. Good written and verbal communication skills. Ability to contribute to a large, multidisciplinary project team. Desirable attributes Strong software skills, e.g. C, C are highly desirable. Knowledge of Digital Signal Processing algorithm design and simulation, e.g. using MATLAB. An awareness of FPGA design. Copernicus Mission Control Systems Operations Engineer 1813025 Job Description We are looking for a Mission Control Systems Operations Engineer for our client EUMETSAT. You shall support two missions. One will be the Copernicus Sentinel3 mission for routine Sentinel3A operations, as well as for the commissioning phase for Sentinel3B leading to the routine operations phase for the dual satellite system. The other will be the Copernicus Sentinel6JasonCS mission for routine operations of S6. Your tasks will include, but not be limited to Mission control system operations Scheduling and coordination of daily operations Monitor the status of the mission control system and perform daily checks to confirm nominal status and performance Monitor the status of the mission control system interfaces to other facilities Perform anomaly investigations Provision of support, as required, to critical andor special operations Contribute to the design, development, documentation and maintenance of mission control operations procedures identified from operational needs system and ground segment procedures identified from operational needs specific toolscripts identified from operational needs Operational ground segment operations, contributing to Raising, processing and coordinating anomalies, their documentation, investigation, classification and resolutionmitigation, including participation in relevant Anomaly Review Boards. Perform operational validation of the operational procedures and coordinate specific operational validation test OVT campaigns, resulting in new or updated operational documentation. Provide expertise to the update of other interorganisation documentation, including but not limited to Joint Operations Rules and Procedures JORP or Operational Interface Control Documents OICDs, Interconnection Security Agreement ISA. Interface with other teams and partners to liaise and coordinate The ground segment facility operations teams and system operations analysts to ensure the continuity and optimisation of ground segment and mission operations through procedure and operations guide updates, configuration changes, database or user interface changes etc.. Evolutions of the Ground Segment Systems Acquire and maintain an operational view of the ground segment, in particular the space and ground segment operational needs for mission control. Review any planned changes or evolutions to the system configurations for the ground segment to assess potential operational impacts with respect to the mission control system. Interface with teams responsible for the implementation of system upgrades to support major operations projects, including System MidTerm Evolution Plan, recurrent satellites, and any System hardware and operating system obsolescence upgrades. Liaise and coordinate as required with the maintenance teams in support of engineering changes to the ground segment. Liaise as required with the security teams in support of security related changes. Participate in the operational validation of system upgrades and evolutions, both standalone and in the context of an overall ground segment. Contribute to the integration and validation of components deliveries, as well as implementation of new products, including configuration control activities. Operations Build up Contribute to validation campaigns, including operations validation tests, participating in the coordination, planning and execution of these campaigns as needed, including TRRsTRBsFATsOSATsORR, etc for ground segment components and operations. Participate to commissioning reviews and commissioning operations to ensure smooth handover from the commissioning phase to nominal operations.
