Engineering Design Manager Job Reference GTL201804102 Location Dublin, Ireland Our client based in Ireland, is a leading manufacturer of rugged, high performance, electronic equipment for aerospace and space avionics applications for some of the worlds leading OEMs for more than 20 years. We are seeking an Engineering Design Manager to create and lead a design team dedicated to electronic systems for Space applications. The successful candidate will be a selfstarter with broad experience of all aspects of electronic design and development, and will manage a small and focussed team of hardware, software and embedded system engineers who are developing electronic systems solutions operating in the challenging space environment. The position will entail taking responsibility for leading the engineering design team with a sense of urgency and attention to detail in order to deliver the technical solution to our customer on time and within budget. An important part of the role will require excellent communications skills to interface with the customer technical team and with the internal departments who are delivering items and services to the project. The new Engineering Design Manager will report directly to the senior management team and work under minimal supervision while assuming responsibility for daytoday operational management of all activities and functions in the engineering team, including developing, implementing and evaluating design rules policies, procedures and standards determining design process service levels and enhancements developing and monitoring technical budgets from proposal through to completion providing technical advice andor supervision to staff, other departments, the public and other agencies. Position Responsibilities Lead and grow the Engineering team to ensure the development capability can leverage global technological developments to deliver the key innovations in the product roadmap. Operational management of the engineering team. Manage and continually develop the knowledge and skill base of all members of the Engineering team and provide day to day steering and coaching. Ensure that all engineering activities are carried out within the constraints of the operating budgets and achieving improved efficiency where possible. Provide regular reports to management with detailed reviews of project performance and risk. Chair daily weekly monthly Engineering team reviews. Coordinate development schedule needs with sales, production, purchasing engineering teams. Evaluate schedules and product status to determine appropriate actions to ensure delivery of products on time and manage programme technical risk. Qualifications Honours Degree in a relevant STEM subject or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job as listed above. Skills and Experience Minimum of 10 years design experience in a functional organisation operating within a relevant market Electronic design for high radiation environments FPGA development, methodology and debugging Full design cycle methodologies and practice Management of development projects Management of engineering personnel

We are seeking a Programme Manager for the planning, system design, development, build, test and delivery of electronic avionics systems for space applications. The ideal candidate is an allrounder with a mix of experience in space systems design and programme management. They need to take responsibility for leading the project team with a sense of urgency towards a common goal to deliver the solution to our customer on time and within budget. An important part of the role will require excellent communications skills to interface with the customer and with the internal departments who are delivering items and services to the project. The new programme manager will report directly to the senior management team and work under minimal supervision while assuming responsibility for daytoday operational management of all activities and functions in a designated programme area, including developing, implementing and evaluating program policies, procedures and standards determining program service levels and enhancements developing and monitoring program budgets providing technical advice andor supervision to staff, other departments, the public and other agencies, and performs related work as required. Position Responsibilities Operational management of allocated project teams, via agreed procedural mechanisms to ensure the proactive planning for and management of all programme operational issues Development of the project teams to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of programme objectives. Coordinate product delivery requirements with production, purchasing and engineering departments. Evaluate schedules and product status to determine appropriate actions to ensure delivery of products on time and manage programme risk. Originally bundled with Windows in 1990, File Manager was a replacement for the command-line interface in MS-DOS.
