Post ISS Increment Manager This post is classified A2A4 on the Coordinated Organisations salary scale. Location ESTEC, Noordwijk, The Netherlands with a resident assignment to Oberpfaffenhofen, Germany. Description ISS Increment Manager in the Research Utilisation Group, Directorate of Human Robotic Exploration Programmes. Duties Under the authority of the Group Leader, the postholder has overall responsibility for managing and coordinating endtoend preparation and implementation of ESA activities for specific assigned ISS Increments. These activities relate to the Columbus module, including its payload facilities, associated ground segment and ISS operations support. The postholder is responsible for preparing, implementing and overseeing execution of all ESA Columbus mission operations activities related to the assigned ISS Increment as defined in the respective Increment Requirements Document IRD. For IRDdefined Increments, the postholder is the interface between the utilisation management and the implementation services. Specifically, duties include defining and managing activities required to implement ESAs ISS requirements and requirements on NASA payloads in the Columbus module for a specific Increment planning and implementing Increment reviews coordinating and implementing the Certification of Flight Readiness process and undertakings for each flightstage of the Increment providing the operational interface to the ESA ISS Utilisation management during the preparation phase with respect to progress reporting, programmatic guidance and issue resolution daytoday management of Increment Requirements and priorities for the current Increment directing the operational implementation and support teams during the execution phase of a specific Increment providing the formal ESA interface with the NASA ISS Increment Manager and Launch Package Managers managing preparation of the postIncrement report. The postholder may be assigned other operationsrelated tasks not linked to a specific Increment during periods when there is no specific assignment. Technical competencies Knowledge of large operations and associated software systems, preferably spacebased Experience in mission, spacecraft andor payload operations Controllingrelated information systems Experience in technical reviews Experience in mission, spacecraft andor payload operations Experience of working in a matrix structure Behavioural competencies Communication Planning Organisation Responsible DecisionMaking Fostering cooperation effective teamworking Self Motivation Education Masters degree or equivalent qualification in science or engineering. Additional requirements Applicants should have a thorough knowledge of the ISS programme, Columbus system and payload operations. They should be systemminded, resultsoriented and able to communicate complex topics effectively. Working in a highly complex operational environment, the postholder needs to be able to integrate teams and operational entities spread across different countries. This requires an ability to plan and organise efficiently. Experience acquired in an international cooperation setting will be an asset. A good knowledge of one of these is required. Knowledge of another Member State language would be an asset. The Agency may require applicants to undergo selection tests. Role responsibilities We are looking for an innovative, reliable and experienced 25 years Aerospace Product Assurance Quality Assurance PAQA Manager to ensure high output quality aiming to the longterm success of our business and augment our rapidly growing team. Generally speaking your presence should help us delivering great, reliable products services that may even set new industry standards! The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining a PA process within our startup, improving industrial processes, product qualitycompliance, and maintaining efficiency. Your duties will include inspecting procedures and outputs, and identifying mistakes or nonconformity issues, and organizing the verification of product. You should have solid experience in quality control together with great attention to details, and be able to make professional conclusions about the quality of products and services. Examples of job responsibilities include but not limited to Develop methods for inspection, testing, sampling and training. Review design documentation for compliance with contract requirements. Review and analyse procedures and report qualityrelated issues Ensure quality related deliverables meet the quality assurance program and customer requirements. Verify the reliability and consistency by checking processes and final output. Manage records of quality reports, statistical reviews and relevant documentation. Maintenance of project configuration items lists. Collect and analyse quality data Initiate nonconformance, corrective actions and perform root cause analysis. Proactive solutions suggestion. Supervise all operations that affect quality. Enforce the compliance with all legal standards. Oversee the usage of standards and policies Support and guide inspectors, technicians and other staff. REQUIREMENTS Required skillsexperience Knowledge of ECSS standards in PAQA, testing and verification. Product assurance experience in the space industry, ideally for cubesatsnanosatellites. Demonstrated ability to diagnose, report, track and resolve quality related issues. Substantial work experience of a scientific, engineering or technical nature involving data analysis and statistical methods. Proficient with MS Office Outlook, Word, Excel. Educated to degree level or equivalent in STEM subject or equivalent. Strong numerical skills, with great attention to detail and a results. Proficient English, positive attitude, selfdriven and interested in working in a startup environment Independent, quick learner, can structure and show initiatives to thoroughly evaluate and solve problems from different angles, proactively push progress forward Desirable additional skillsexperience Practical experience working in PAQA within the space industry, ideally on Cubesats. Experience of product assurance on space projects working to ECSS requirements. Chartered status awarded by an engineering, quality assurance or scientific organisation. Knowledge of inspection requirements and techniques for electronic and optical assemblies. Knowledge of ESA forbidden materialscomponents. Knowledge of laser safety and cleanliness for space systems. Experience working on Cubesat projects, UAV, HAPS projects.
