We are currently looking for a Spacecraft Operations Engineer to support our customer in Germany. Key Tasks and Responsibilities As part of the HE Space team of experts at EUMETSAT, you will support the ongoing satellites routine operations in the longer term, also the operations preparation of future Low Earth Orbit missions and will have the following responsibilities Provision of operational expertise to one or more platform subsystems andor payload instruments. Maintain the corresponding operations documentation and flight procedures, including the update and operational validation of procedures releases in a configurationcontrolled environment Perform trending and performance analysis on the corresponding subsystems and instruments, including definition and possibly prototyping of additional analysis checks where necessary Investigations into satellite anomalies. This may require a close cooperation with the Operations Support Entity Participation in the satellite oncall support rota Provide inputs and or review the definition of system and satellite operational concepts Review space to ground interface specifications and flight operations manuals Support the definition of tools and processes required to prepare for and operate the satellites. Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience University degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline Spacecraft inorbit monitor and control operations of a LEO Earth Observation satellite Spacecraft operations preparation engineering Development and validation of spacecraft operations procedures Experience in the operation or development of satellite ground segment facilities, in particular procedure development, monitor and control, mission planning, onboard software management, performance analysis, configuration management and simulator facilities Programming language such as C, Visual basic, Software package such as MATLAB, SPICE, IDL, PVWAVE Fluency in English is mandatory knowledge of another European language is an advantage. Copernicus Mission Control Systems Operations Engineer 1813025 Job Description We are looking for a Mission Control Systems Operations Engineer for our client EUMETSAT. You shall support two missions. One will be the Copernicus Sentinel3 mission for routine Sentinel3A operations, as well as for the commissioning phase for Sentinel3B leading to the routine operations phase for the dual satellite system. The other will be the Copernicus Sentinel6JasonCS mission for routine operations of S6. Your tasks will include, but not be limited to Mission control system operations Scheduling and coordination of daily operations Monitor the status of the mission control system and perform daily checks to confirm nominal status and performance Monitor the status of the mission control system interfaces to other facilities Perform anomaly investigations Provision of support, as required, to critical andor special operations Contribute to the design, development, documentation and maintenance of mission control operations procedures identified from operational needs system and ground segment procedures identified from operational needs specific toolscripts identified from operational needs Operational ground segment operations, contributing to Raising, processing and coordinating anomalies, their documentation, investigation, classification and resolutionmitigation, including participation in relevant Anomaly Review Boards. Interface with teams responsible for the implementation of system upgrades to support major operations projects, including System MidTerm Evolution Plan, recurrent satellites, and any System hardware and operating system obsolescence upgrades. Liaise and coordinate as required with the maintenance teams in support of engineering changes to the ground segment. Participate in the operational validation of system upgrades and evolutions, both standalone and in the context of an overall ground segment. Demonstrated experience in the definition and implementation of the verification and validation of spacecraft mission control systems. Demonstrated experience with UNIXLinux operating systems. Communicate effectively in English verbally and written. Conduct all activities in an orderly and disciplined manner, shall be able to work under pressure and with a minimum of Desirable Skills and Experience The use of databases and SQLrelated querying in relation to spacecraft mission control systems. Familiarity with ECSS and CCSDS standards related to spacetoground interfaces and applicable to Satellite Monitoring Control Systems Packet Telemetry and Telecommand standards, PUS Packet Utilisation Standard, etc. Familiarity with flight dynamics and mission planning functions and systems as applied to satellite operations.
